I'm so sorry and missed the opportunity to attend the wake. She was a the best caretaker when I was very young. Pat taught me a few things about great music such as Vangelis to Mario Lanza we would take rides to go to the record store and check out some great tunes on vinyl records. She took me to my very first Cub game when I was 7 and she was a huge Cub fan from what I remember such great memories of criticism of the team and dedication. Pat also, taught me how to play a song called Spanish Eyes on her piano in the living room i'll never forget that moment. I also, got the opportunity to get my first hands on experience with a computer at her house which turned a hobby into something professional thank you! I remember her calling me her favorite little angel when I came over every morning when my father dropped me off made me feel really good. She also had a huge love for penguins and knitting items out of yarn she was fantastic at this craft. She was also very patriotic and giving I am thankful to be apart of her life. For the short span I've known her she will be deeply missed and will forever be in my memories. I always wanted to stop by to the house on Clybourn but, never really got around to doing that thinking that she wouldn't recognize me as I got older and I really missed that opportunity it would have been really nice to say hello one more time.

I loved taking naps, meeting new and interesting people, and the unique experiences. Pat and I somehow managed to get lost in the woods for a couple of hours one time we were at a botanical garden and somehow got really lost it was hilarious at the same now that I think about it but, we managed to track our way out of the woods and find man made land and back to the New Yorker! We were both very dehydrated and tired!

I can really go on and on about some stories and will cherish them for what they were.

Pat you will be truly missed and I am very thankful to be apart of your life for the short time that it was. I had a hard time leaving your place on Clybourn when my father had to pick me up from work everyday because it was such a blast hanging out with you. Thank you for everything. Pam, April and Michael I am so sorry for your loss. As you know Pat and I were best friends for over 35 years, after retiring to Southern Illinois in 2003 we weren't able to see each other very often. Even though I make several trips a year to Chicago, I wasn't always able to see her while I was there. I am so thankful I was able to see you April and your Mom at my mothers wake in early September. We had such a nice talk and you were both so comforting. I was so shocked when Trisha called and told us. My heart goes out to you in your time of grief and regret that we are unable to come up to Chicago at this time to pay our respects. I have so many memories and pictures of all the things we did together over the more than 35 years our families have been intertwined. I will always cherish the memories of coming across the street and sitting with Pat on the porch and working on our craft projects together, of all the Cubs games we went to over the years, of all the parties we had, and especially of watching you girls and my girls growing up together, and being together at both of your weddings and both of my daughters weddings. I am heartbroken over what has happened but thankful for all the years we had together and all the memories I will have for the rest of my life. Love always, Marj and Jr

Pam,April, and Michael, Pat was a wonderful loving person. She was a good friend and a good listener. She gave me advice and helped me through rough times. I'm going to miss her smile and her laughter. She was a mother and a grandmother to those who didn't have one. The lunchroom won't be the same without her.

To the family of Pat Allen
I knew Pat from St. Andrews and Dunkin Donuts. It was shocking to learn of her death. She was so vibrant and engaged in life. Saw her often at Dunkin Donuts doing the cross word puzzle, mingling with others and always displaying a ready smile. We would discuss the Cubs and other news of the day. She always looked so festive in her various holiday outfits and jewelry. I will really miss seeing her and so will anyone who received her friendly exchanges. It was such a pleasure to know your wonderful mother and she will be missed.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
