My condolences to 'auntie' Panayiota's family on the falling asleep of this wonderful lady. Our families were neighbours back in Cyprus for over 46 years (I am 46; I don't know how much further the association goes). Some of my earliest childhood memories are our visits to antie Panayiota's house and her warm hospitality, under the enormous vine tree (Klimatarka, in the Chypriot dialect - I think it was Veriko) in their house. This came to an abrupt end with the Turkish invation when my family moved to England and antie Panayiota's family to the States. Even though we saw each other infrequently after that (the last time in May of 2002), the bond between our two families, was (and is) as strong as ever. She was a lady of high morals and ethics, with a heart of gold and gentle demeanour. Her loss, indeed, signifies an end of an era. Auntie Panayiota, may you rest in peace; you are in a much better place now, finally united, once again with uncle George after all these years. Dear Christo, Tefkro and Maro (and families), my heart-felt condolences on your great loss.
Aionia tis e mneme.
With much love,

John Coundouris
