Pam and I shared a passion for books. I remember in the 8th grade when students were asked to read out loud, Pam excitement and passion for words brought life in the room and I knew I had to get to know her. I've enjoyed the years and will miss you lady!

The amazing brilliant kind generous adventurous full -of -life Pam Johnson was my oldest friend and play cousin, sharing memories that date back to kindergarten. I remember Pam, Cindy and I loved playing the Supremes, singing Stop In the Name of Love in my driveway and spending so many school afternoons together. From being sixteen year olds out on a double date with two guys during an Atlanta rainstorm to sharing tips and stories as caregivers for our amazing mothers, Pam's fierce love, care, strategic planning and zeal for embracing life were always there. Across the miles, we watched holiday parades and President Obama's first inauguration on television together. We both loved acting, and I missed seeing her perform in The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie at Northside High because I was performing in The Member of the Wedding at Westminster on the same nights. Through the years, we shared movie critiques, and I reveled in her theatrical triumphs. When I visited last year, we stayed up late watching the Celia series, which hooked me just as it had hooked her.

During the crisis of my life, she flew to California to be with me and didn't flinch during the tough moments. Pam and I talked often during the last years of our mothers' lives and Pam and Cindy helped so much with my mom's funeral. I was in Atlanta in 2017, three weeks after she received her medical diagnosis; I was blown away by how she was planning for her future, second opinions and options, we prayed together daily, had communion, and walked the Beltway, and then during that same visit, she glommed me up for my high school reunion and loaned me her favorite dress to wear. I was so blessed to spend a week in her warm and beautiful home each week for the last three years. Pamela Gay Johnson was/is one in a BILLION and she will live in my heart forever.

The world has lost a lot of sunshine with the passing of Pam. Her presence was inspiring and radiating, many moments she would demonstrate how to enjoy life, even when life was tough as nails.

Pam, you will be missed by so many. That is the only solace we have right now, together with the memories of a fantastic human being. It was an honor and pleasure to have been your neighbor and friend.

Love, love, love,

Hein

I am somewhat at a loss of words. I extend my sincere sympathy to Cindy ( my adopted little sister) and the entire family. I will treasure the fond memories that my husband, Webster, and I had with Pam when we saw her perform at a local community playhouse. She was an excellent actor and we had a fun time visiting and taking pictures after the play. My life is so intertwined with the Johnson family through Pam and Cindys parents, Sam and Edith Johnson. I know that God knows best, so we will continue to trust in His will. I know Pam is enjoying her heavenly reunion with her parents. Cindy, I am here to support you in whatever way is needed.

Pam always had a smile and great disposition which showed her love for God and respect for humankind. When my daughter moved to Atlanta, I was assured that she was in capable hand of my cousins Pam and Cindy. I thank God for her presence in my life. We have an opportunity to see Pam again

I first met Pam as a High School classmate at Northside High. Our motto in front of school was through these halls pass the best! Pam exemplified that. I last saw her at our 40th class reunion which she led. Of course her spirit permeated throughout and we had. Marvelous time. I thank God that our paths crossed because I am the better for it!
