Ottelene Wheeler Obituary
Ottelene "Sally" Wheeler, née Massey, age 95, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024. Sally was born to Isaac and Nellie Massey in Vienna, IL, on May 2, 1929. In 1950, Sally was crowned Miss Kankakee and married Donald L. Wheeler, Sr. (1926-2016), with whom she was happily married for 65 years. Loving mother of Cynthia, Donald Jr. (Janice), Richard, and David (Tami) Wheeler; adoring grandmother of Travis, Jessica (Chris) Milhausen, Nicholas (Maria), Elizabeth, Joseph, Katherine (Alex) Ashline, Donald III (fiancée, Katie), Sheridan, and Jackson; proud great-grandmother of Ottelene Wheeler-Milhausen and Austin Ashline (expected December, 2024); fond sister of the late Harold Massey, Mary Stanley, and Opal "Cookie" Borschnack. Sally was a 74-year resident of Evanston, IL, and devoted much of her time to charity. She drove cancer patients to and from treatments for 35 years and donated her time to Meals on Wheels. She was a member of Fidelitas and House of the Good Shepherd for many years. Sally was a champion bowler and an avid golfer at Evanston Golf Club, where Don and she were members since 1980. Sally will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.

Condolences to all family & friends. Mrs. Wheeler was as beautiful inside as she was outside. I knew her through her son Donnie back in my high school days. So extra hug to Donnie! I knew where she sat for the Evanston Fourth of July Parade and would seek her out whenever I went. She was always welcoming & friendly.
We´d laugh over those late sixties memories and she´d give me the family updates.
I´m saddened to hear the news of her passing. XO Jody
