Norbert Duckstein Obituary

You sadly left us 9 years ago today, Dad. It still hurts like it did 9 years ago . I miss you everyday, and my heart is forever broken. You will always be my superhero. You were and always will be an amazing Dad and best friend to all of us, and I am forever grateful that you were my Dad. You are loved by so many. I know you are up there with our beautiful family playing golf, playing poker, and making everyone smile and laugh with your antics. That brings a smile to my face. I love you more than words can say, I promise I will make you proud by getting out of this rut Im in and make myself happy. I just miss our talks. You were the only one in our family and most of my friends, who was always supportive of me, had my back, and loved me unconditionally . Just passed Horse Shoe Casino in car on our way to New Buffalo, MI and sent you a million kisses and love..I know youre winning big up there, just like you did down here, Dad... I love you always!

I remember when Norbert asked Meadowlark Lemon about his strange name. Meadowlark responded "Norbert Duckstein is asking me about a strange name?"

The Duckstein/ Mares/Thomas Families can not thank you enough for all your kind words and support during this difficult time. Daddy D. touched our hearts, as well as our funny bone...we will never forget the laughs and joy he brought to everyone of us. We love to hear about his antics, so please keep them coming!! Daddy D. is the love our life and will be with us always. Thank-you you once again for all your love and support.

I'm so sorry to hear the sad news. My deepest sympathy and prayers go out to Ducky's family. I can still picture him as he was over 50 years ago -- always so much fun to be around - a truly lovable and memorable character. I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to spend a little time with him at our 50th St. Michael's High School Reunion. I'm sure he's in heaven making the angels laugh.
