Ms. Cox made a huge impact on my life. I admired her very much and even more than forty years later, I catch myself imitating her "style". She taught me history at Austin High School in the early 60's. She was not impressed with "important" people and without resorting to slogans or catch phrases, managed to impart an idea of responsible citizenship to us. I think the most important thing I learned from her is that it is my responsibility to keep myself informed and to make my own decisions.

The students at Austin High School also appreciated and admired Ms. Cox. We have a website and someone mentioned her passing. She left a legacy that she probably didn't even know about. Lives can be changed by one teacher who cares.
