Noah Tennant Obituary

Tennant, Noah Aaron Born September 21, 1986, passed away unexpectedly on February 18, 2019, and was laid to rest at Shalom Cemetery. He will be missed forever. Noah was known for his gentle, kind soul and unique personal charm. He loved animals, being outside in the water, cooking, and physical fitness. People were drawn to his sense of humor and easygoing nature. Noah struggled with a severe lung disease since childhood, but that did not prevent him from being a competitive team swimmer and certified lifeguard. Although Noah often underestimated his abilities, he was always able to help others. When Noah was a young man, he heroically rescued a swimmer in the Sea of Galilee. The young man Noah rescued is now married and has two children of his own. Noah was a graduate of Evanston Township High School and DePaul University. Noah often helped others by volunteering, from serving as President of his Community Service Club in High School, to tutoring underprivileged children while a student at DePaul, to aiding PAWS Chicago and their rescue animals as a senior volunteer. He was always devoted to and protective of his grandparents and siblings, his friends, and all the animals he helped rescue. Anyone who knew Noah appreciated his knack for business. He built, from scratch, a successful real estate business, Skyline Luxury Rentals. Always generous with his family and employees, Noah was also an expert in getting a good deal. Most important was Noah's basic sweetness and decency. He always stood up for the underdog, his family, friends, and, of course, the animals. This is what we will miss most about Noah. Noah leaves his mother, Robin Kory Tennant; father, James R. Tennant; brother and sister, Jacob and Eleanor Tennant; grandmother, Gloria Bierman; uncles, Michael Tennant, Adam Bierman, Joshua Bierman, and Douglas Bierman; and numerous friends, co-workers, and fellow volunteers, especially Michael Yetnikoff, Dan Zanger, Chance Lockhart, and all the alumnae of Skyline Luxury Rentals; and his beloved rescue dog Sox. In memory of Noah, his family asks that you donate to PAWS Chicago or Illini Chabad, or just do a kindness in his name.

I worked with Noah for over 5 years. He became a friend quickly and we bonded well as we became successful over the years in leasing downtown apartments. Through the good times and bad times with work I always appreciated Noah's candor and generosity. From going out on Lake Michigan with his summertime boat membership to working late at the office we grew the business and our friendship. Noah had a very caring and giving side and that is why it was great working with him after all those years. RIP Noah, you were a great friend/co-worker. Miss you pal!

I knew Noah from the time I was born, until his passing. He was a kind, loving, gentle person. When I was a kid, he was always nice to me, always included me in the older kids activities, always treated me like his equal even though I was years younger than him. As I knew him, he was someone who would never want to hurt a person or even a fly, ever, for any reason. I will miss him greatly, as will the rest of my family. Rest in love Noah. Daniel Poneman

Dearest Robin and Jim - this note is from your cousins in California. Ron and I were so sorry to hear about Noah's passing. Whenever we were with cousin Shelby she always talked about Noah and what a wonderful grandson he was. Your children were all so special to her and you can believe Noah is now with her in heaven. Please know our hearts and love are with your entire family.
Our love, Ron and Karen Wagner

Rob and Jim,

It's hard to believe that Noah is no longer here on this earth. He was such a kind and gentle soul...besides being smart and savvy as anyone could be. When the kids were little, as much as I loved Ellie and Jake (hey, I was at Jakey's birth - rabbit's foot and all), I have to admit that Noah was my favorite. I loved his Yiddishe kop and Yiddishe heart...and of course, he got points with me for loving Minnie and Mollie!! Looking forward to seeing you now that I've moved back to Chicago. We can share our memories.
With my love and heartfelt condolences,
Debra

We are so saddened to hear of Noah's passing. Shelby always spoke so highly of him to us and how he was always there to help her when she could not do so for herself. Our sincerest condolences to you.

I worked for Shelby(house cleaner) and after I gave up my business we stayed friends. Her and George would come to my home for lunch and we would talk about

our famlies.she was very proud of her children and grandchildren. I was at her condo for lunch soon after Noah was born
and we talked about the "new grandson". I am so sorry for your loss and I hope all the good memories give you inner peace at this time.

Wow. I am heart broken Noah. Had a nice talk with your mother today. You are one of the kindest people I ever met. Boy did we get each other out of some Real Estate spots! lol. Well, I miss you dearly and I hope you are with me as I go solo. Send me some good deals! You will always be in my heart dear Noah. Until we meet again. Love you much.

A unique remembrance of Noah which I would like to share. Noah seemed about as knowledgeable about food as a non-chef could be. His home cooked dinners were very far from what imagines as a bachelor's table. He would prepare elaborate restaurant style meals for just himself, set the table and partake of fine dining right at home. Noah even had his own self-concocted collection of "herbal infusions" to add that special touch to his creations. Rest in Peace, Noah.
