I just learned about Mike's passing and I am so so sorry. I knew him for many years through mutual friends. And, I saw him, too, at the East Bank Club where we were members. He had a terrific sense of humor, he was a very kind person, and I want to extend my deepest sympathies to his family for this terrible loss. But, I know he had a good life and I was honored to know him and to be his friend. RIP Michael...

To a lifelong friend who was always there for you

Mike, or Uncle Mike to me, was always the life of the party. I will miss seeing his face at East Bank and hearing stories of his latest adventures. I grew up with the stories of Mike and my dad and was lucky enough to see the two of them remain friends for 65 years. What more can you say about someone than staying friends with them for 65 years. Today is a day that is different than all of the others I´ve spent with Mike. I´m not smiling and laughing. I´ll miss him dearly. Sandy, Merle and family you all have my condolences.

I am so very, very sorry about Mike's passing. We were good friends for many years and unfortunately had lost touch in recent years but I always kept tabs and heard about what he was doing. I learned that he was ill in last recent months. He was a force in everyone's lives who knew him...and a very good friend to all of those who had been his friend for a lifetime. I know his family who he was so close with will feel this tremendous loss. I hope in the days to come you will all be able to remember the good times and share some laughs. My thoughts are with all of you.

Mike was one of the funniest guys I ever knew. It was always a pleasure to be with him. Recently, Nancy and I had lunch with Dianne and Mike at a restaurant in Old Orchard Shopping Center where the restroom was downstairs but you could take an elevator to get back and forth from the restaurant. We were waiting with two ladies to get on the elevator to go to the restaurant. They went in first followed by us. Mike looked at the gal next to the elevator button and calmly said, "4, please."

Mike was a super guy. He knew everyone also. We had many interesting conversations at the East Bank grill. He will be missed by his many friends. RIP
