As always I am thinking about Mitch. I miss him very much until this day, and I wish he was still here. I would ask him to teach me more on drums and gardening.

Dear Levine family,
Today would have been Mitchell's 63rd birthday. I know this because we dated for 5 years back in the early 80's. I found myself reminiscing about the times we spent together and decided to Google his name to see if I could connect with him. I was saddened to hear of his passing, and wanted to offer my sincerest condolences to you. Even though it's been almost 11 years, I'm sure losing him is something you can never truly get past. I only wish I had known, but as life would have it I moved far from Illinois and started a new life. I have many photos of Mitch, which, I cherish and hold dear in my heart as a part of my young life. And looking at him with his dog, gave me a heartache, because I found that dog on the corner of Grand & Pulaski on a Friday, and I named her, fixed her and gave her to Mitch. Because he needed a friend at that time in his life. And I'm so glad he had her when he did. I will never forget Mitchell Ben Levine. Ever ... He was a gentle soul, and I loved him.

Dear Joyce and Lloyd,
Though I can't say I knew Mitchell, I certainly feel I have from all the wonderful things I've learned about him, from the outpouring of Love from relatives, friends, and others that carried Mitch in their hearts. In his leaving this "plane", there is so much energy from those who have joined the LeVine's in celebrating Mitch's life. People, all the music, the remarkable memories, and of course his dear Friday.
Joyce you stand so tall in this difficult time as Mitch's moving along creates an empty spot. Your grace can only be Mitch's grace, the special glow that drew everyone to him, and continues to, and always will as his "soul is supported in it's journey." The Hopi Tribe believes the spirit's journey is endless. For Mitchell:
Stand not at my grave and weep
I am not there.
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glint on fresh snow.
I am the sunlight on the ripened
grain.
I am the gentle Autumn's rain.
I am the rhythm of a song you carry in your heart.
When you wake in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the brilliance in the stars
that punctuate the sky at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.
My spirit is alive and burns
brightly with Love,
My spirit is with you.
My best wishes for Health, Joy, and Peace to the LeVine family and friends.
Love.

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember Mitch because I was one of the many nurses who took care of him way back when he had neck surgery and was in the hospital for several months. I remember pictures of his dog Friday that were in the room. He was such an easy going kind of guy.

I actually met Friday before I met Mitch. I was walking in my neighborhood and Friday jumped on me as I passed Mitch. I said "hey, you gotta watch your dog, I almost hit it". of course he said "That's Friday, she don't bite". So I pet Friday and Mitch introduced himself and we went to the open jam together down the street. I loved Mitch and Friday ever since. Thanx for being my best friend Mitch.

I am very sad to hear of Mitch's passing. I saw him 3 years ago at our pre-reunion and reunion (I think), and it was great to see him after many years. I liked him in high school, and he was a fun guy in junior high also. I hope he is at peace where he is now.

Dear Levine Family,
We have not seen Mitch in quite a few years. He was our neighbor when we lived in Chicago on Addison street. He was a very nice person and always in a happy mood. He also loved his dog Friday.
We are very sorry to hear of his sudden passing.
We pray that God grant you strength through your time of sorrow.
Our deepset sympathies,
