Michael Solberg Obituary

Solberg, Michael W. Age 34, and a proud member of the Schaumburg Fire Department passed away peacefully on May 6, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. Mike made a lasting impression on everyone he met, and he will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Michael was the loving husband of Maureen (nee Bowery); devoted father of Emma; cherished son of Greg and Holli (nee Terry); beloved grandson of Wallace and Joan Solberg and Joyce and the late Art Terry; treasured brother of Joe, Sally (Derek Bishop) and Jenny (Brandon Full); dear uncle of Lucas; favorite son-in-law of Eileen Bowery; revered brother-in-law of Patrick, CPD (Krysanna) and Danny (Hillary) Bowery. He also leaves behind his precious "dog sons" Harry and Tucci, and he was a fond, nephew, cousin and friend to many. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity that Mike worked tirelessly for and dedicated much of his time to: the Schaumburg Firefighter's Fighting Cancer Pink Tie Ball, 950 W. Schaumburg Rd., Schaumburg, IL 60194 or pinktieball4092.com. Visitation Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Cumberland Chapels, 8300 W. Lawrence Ave., Norridge, IL. Funeral Services will begin at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, at the funeral home, and will then proceed to St. Eugene Church for Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
