Retired Evanston Fire Dept., beloved husband of Marie McDonagh, loving brother of Patrick, Philip (Betsy) and Marianne (Max) Letendre, devoted son of the late Dorothy M. and Joseph M., fond uncle of many. Visitation at the Cooney Funeral Home, 3918 W. Irving Park Rd., Chicago, from 3 to 9 p.m., Sunday. Funeral Monday, 10 a.m., to Queen of Angels Church. Mass at 11 a.m. Cremation private. Please omit flowers. 773-588-5850.

I knew Michael for many years long ago and we were close. Over the years, we grew and we changed, we parted but my memories of a time simpler then today are sweet. Gosh, it's been a long time since we all shared adventures back on Eastwood, but I sure remember the Ryan's being a part of many of them! Whether it was on the block, over in Welles Park or coming and going from Queens, there were a million of them ... and loads of laughs!
