Although we never met Mike, you are my brother. Thank you for your service to our country and forever guarding the gates of Heaven.

Mike was a good brother, a brother that never quit and never lost faith. I lived with Rauen for 3 months and learned a lot about him. We use talk about boxing all the time, he was one of the few I could relate to even tho we had different backgrounds. He had heart like Mickey Ward and Mike will never be forgotten.

as time goes by and the weeks get harder, please know that you are not forgotten. we think and pray for you often. mike will forever be in our hearts.

i spent three hard months with mike. we went to boot camp together we were artist recruits together. both from chicago flew to MCRD together graduated together then he went to SOI and i went onto MCT. mike was a good person but more thatn that he was a goof friend. mike my buddy we may not be together in life anymore but we are together in spirit. i was honored to have met you. to his family and close friends stay strong keep your heads up he is watching over us all. you will never be forgotten devil dog love you brother its a shame i couldnt tell you that in person. again im sorry to the family and close friends i pray for you everynight. semper fidelis devil dog we will all miss you.

When I think of Mike, I remember that big, wicked swing he had as a kid playing baseball at Kennedy Park & also what a terrific teammate he was with all the other kids. As the kids got older, I would run into Mike in the neighborhood every so often. Every time I would see him, he was outgoing, polite & would always ask how everyone was doing. What an outstanding, genuine guy! You should be extremely proud of such a great son & brother. Mike will be greatly missed by a lot of people, but he will also be remembered for the wonderful person he was. Mike will remain in our thoughts & prayers.

Entire Rauen Family, I learned today of the death of Michael Rauen. I am saddened. The Rauen family, as well as the Gleason and Gammonley family were a huge part of my family's life when living on Longwood Dr. in the 60's. Jack & Agnes Rauen,as well as the others,were good friends. All our places were open to all. We grew together in those days. I shall remember Michael in my prayers. I am very sorry for your family loss.

I'm still at a loss of what to say. It's never easy to lose someone you love, especially hard when it's someone as kind, generous, and young as Michael.
