To the Petru Family,
I was horrified to learn that it was Michael who passed away. I am very sorry for your loss, I realize people leaving messages may not help at this time, but I wanted all of you to know that I have always had fond memories of growing up with Kristen and Michael. He was always the pesky litle follower when Kristen and I did stuff. You are all in my heart and prayers. May you someday find peace and understanding.

Just a few weeks ago, I came across a few pictures of you. I was going to call you and see how things were going. But, I got distracted and never called. I wish I had. Your family took me in and treated me like I belonged there. You had this way about you that just made everything seem okay. Even though we didn't talk all that often, when we did, it was right back to where we left off. You calling me saying, "Whats up Kid?" Even though you knew I hated it, but you did it to make me laugh. I am going to miss that. To Mr. and Mrs. Petru, Kristen and Sarah, I offer my deepest condolences.

I didn't get to know Michael too personally, I remember him as a young energetic boy, as thought it was yesterday. But I was friends with Kristen, and I am sure Michael grew up to be as great of a person as she was. My family and I are deeply sorry for your unexpected loss.
Thankfully, God gives us the resurrection hope of being reunited with our loved ones. John 5:28-29, Acts 24:15. Our prayers continue to be with you.

Life is but a Stopping Place
Life is but a stopping place,
A pause in what's to be,
A resting place along the road,
to sweet eternity.
We all have different journeys,
Different paths along the way,
We all were meant to learn some things,
but never meant to stay...
Our destination is a place,
Far greater than we know.
For some the journey's quicker,
For some the journey's slow.
And when the journey finally ends,
We'll claim a great reward,
And find an everlasting peace,
Together with the lord

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Petru family during this most difficult time. Mike was a wonderful young man.....so personable and so genuinely nice. A real gentleman. May you be comforted by your memories and knowing that Mike touched the life of every person he met. I will never forget him and his great big smile. His happiness and contagious smile should shine as an example to all of us....to strive to be better people and make this world a sweeter place. May God give you all strength and comfort.

Kathy - You asked to hear good things about your son - well, here they are. I first met Michael when he was about 10 years old. What a precocious little kid! Always smiling, laughing and goofing around! Full of energy and spunk! He was my nephew Brian's friend from Queen of the Universe. As the years went by, although they went to different high schools, they still remained best buds. Brian knows a gem when he sees one! Through all the teenage years, I saw Michael do all the goofy things kids do - the fashions, the different hair colors. It was just Michael living life to the hilt and having fun. Then I didn't see Mike again until he was in his mid-twenties. I heard about the mechanic school, the business. Brian's mom and myself were proud of him - he made good because he was a go-getter who seemed to know what he wanted in life. During the teen years, he helped Brian with his grief at losing his dad. Again, a few years ago, he helped Brian again with the loss of his grandfather. In fact, he served as a pall bearer. So often I heard of the nice things he did to help out Brian and his mom, with cars or otherwise. My memories of Mike are good - he enjoyed himself no matter what and seemed to be able to lighten up any situation - his smile was contagious and he always made you laugh. And then add to that all the kind and thoughtful deeds. He has been good to and for my sister and nephew, going out of his way to help them, and my kids always thought he was outrageous, crazy, and fun! He contributed a lot in his short lifetime. He was definitely a character. He will be sorely missed. Thank God for the blessing he was in your life and those he touched. If you leave your mark on someone, you have lived life well. He will be remembered for his extreme personality, good heart, and that everlasting, always present smile! Mrs. Joyce Greska - aunt of Brian Powley
