My sincere condolences to Mike's family. I knew Mike as a friend and neighbor. He was quite a guy, I enjoyed talking to him & was fortunate to see him just a couple of months ago. He remained the same no matter the challenge.

Mike was one of a kind. Professionally and personally, he was passionate, compassionate, dedicated, loyal, honest and sensitive. He was also tough, strong-willed and someone to be reckoned with. He was someone you'd want on your side in good times and bad.
His laughter was infectious; his eyes twinkled bright blue (with his glasses precariously perched on his forehead!); his animated gestures telling the tale. This is how I'll remember you Mike. See you on the other side.
With deepest sympathy to Mike's family,
Tanja Ancrum

I also knew Mike from the City of Chicago's Civil Service Commission and worked for him in the Chicago Fire Department from 1982 until his retirement. He was a great boss who spoke his mind freely and cared a great deal for his colleagues. I know he was very devoted to his family. May he rest from his labors and enjoy his eternal reward.

Mike was a great guy. He either liked you or not - told you exactly what was on his mind. Knew him in the Civil Service Commission (Department of Personnel) and the Chicago Fire Department. He will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers to the Hogan family. I have fond memories of Mike being Jim's anchor when we were both young and skinny.
