Dear Tom and family, I am very sorry to hear of your dad's passing. He's someone I never forgot since NP baseball in 1973 and after football games when he meet me in the middle of the field to congratulate me,ask about my parents...and always wish me well...He was a great man!

I had lunch with Neil Carey today and, among other things, we talked about our memories of Newman Hall way back when. Ironically, and sadly, as I went to bed on the night of the very same day, I read of your dad's passing into the next phase of his eternal life with our Lord.

I will pray for your dad and your mom, for you and Carol, for the kids, and for the entire Haas family. I never got the chance to meet your dad, but I am sure that he was, and remains, a wonderful man; he and your mom produced you, and that's evidence enough for me of their inherent goodness.

Take care, my friend, and Godspeed to your father on this leg of his journey.
