We will Celebrate a life well lived by the strongest man we will ever know. Cherish his memories forever and carry on his legacy of laughter and kindness. Michael made a life long impression on everyone he ever came in contact with. We named our son after him and now they are both pain free in heaven together watching over us. Our hearts are broken but filled with many loving memories. Until we meet again...always in our hearts.
Our Love forever, Mary, Jerry, Kristen & Monique

Dear Sharon, Ryan, Amy, Greg, Molly, Megan, Bill, Daniel, the dogs, and the extendend Dooley Family,
Wow, that was a mouthful!!! I've tried to come up with something to write for days now but couldn't sum up our feelings about Michael. After being with his extended family for the past two days it has given us greater depth into the man Michael Dooley was. We all know of his humor, creativity, adaptability, spark, and endurance. We all knew of his devotion to his family and to his dogs. For the past 10 years I've talked to Sharon almost every single night. I used to hear Michael's wisecracks in the background. Tragically they evolved to moans and crying in the background. Bob and I have never met anyone with the emotional and physical strength to endure everything that Michael did and to do it without complaining in such a way as to protect the ones he loved. He just wouldn't give up. We believe God had to step in to relieve Michael of his pain. As we grieve now and we are the ones in pain, ironically Michael is out of pain. I don't think any of the emotional pain that those that loved him feel now can compare to the physical and emotional pain Michael felt for so very long. As we miss Michael, I think we need to remember that he is missing the pain. Nobody can ever replace that guy and our memories will keep him alive in our hearts forever. Love doesn't die. The days of his wake and funeral were planned with such good taste, the words that were said were so deep and sincere and painted the perfect picture of the wonderful man Michael Dooley was. I think, in pain, he was holding out for his birthday and made a deal with God to get everyone together to celebrate his life and comfort his family. We believe he was up there smiling down at all of us thinking that no birthday he ever had on this earth brought so many people to see him and give him such a magnificent tribute. You Dooleys gave to him the celebration of life that he deserved. We will never forget what Michael has given to all of us and may he finally and forever rest in calmness and pain-free peace.

We are so sorry to hear about the loss of Mike, what a great, fun person he was. My favorite memory of him is when he used to babysit us, he would run around chasing us calling himself mighty mouse. Dear Cousins Sharon, Amy, Megan and Ryan,
Reading all the heartwarming tributes to your husband and father Mike, my heart aches for your loss. I am truly sorry for your lose. I have know Mike for a number of years and always enjoyed the times that we were together. Even if you did not see Mike enter the room, he had a special laugh that told me immediately that it was Mike. He was always in good spirits - laughing and joking - even when he was not feeling well. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Dooley family.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Mike’s passing, but I am glad his struggle to survive all the various agonies of conventional and experimental medicine are over. Mike encouraged all of us who deal with this disease to look ahead, face our prospects firmly, and get on with life. We went to Mike for encouragement and laughter when none of us faced as grim a future as he did. He was truly the most memorable and persevering man I have ever known.

Dear Sharon and the entire Dooley Family:
Please accept our sincere and heartfelt condolences; our thoughts and prayers are with you at this very sad time. A very bright light has been extinguished way too soon, but thinking of Michael always makes us smile, because he was always smiling and telling jokes and stories, and we can clearly hear that wonderful, distinctive giggle-laugh of his, that always made you want to join in on the fun. He was a gentleman and so kind, and thoughts of him will always be strong. May his memory be for a blessing.
With Love,
Wally, Ruby, Rachel and Matthew Hilker

A very special light has been dimmed and the world is most surely a bit less today!
I am so sorry for your loss. I always felt as though it was a blessing to have been connected to the Dooley's in a shirttail sort of way, and your husband/father/brother Michael was a VERY special part of that.
May God hold each of you even more gently in His Hands as you make your way through these sad days!
