Michael Dice Obituary

Gone but not forgotten. I don't think we ever expressed to each other our mutual love and respect. Better late than never. Rest In Peace my friend.

Not enough can be said for the man who set me on the path of life that I have taken. Dice made me (and so many others) realize that the theatre was the place for us. For this I thank him. You will never be forgotten.

I was glad to be one of Mr. Dice's first actors in the early 1970's. I also had the priviledge of seeing his last show right before retirement. Another packed house! How I remember it well! Thanks to him for all he has done for all LPHS grads and students over the years!

We were so very saddened to hear of your loss. Mr. Dice was a wonderful teacher. Our daughter was very fortunate to be his student and take part in theater under his direction. We are glad to have known him. He was a caring individual. We certainly enjoyed all that he did at Lake Park. He was a wonderful man and his passing at such a young age is truly a loss. Mr. Dice had a way in class of reaching students. He was a great educator who taught me the value of education. I remembered his class as I went on to college, graduate school and my own teaching career.

Since we have been out of the area, we just heard of Mike's passing. We send our deepest sympathy to the family. As did many other students, our son, Ian, benefited from Mike's passion for drama and for that, we are grateful.

Here's to 26 years of friendship, my dear friend.

Mike was such an amazing person. He will continue to be a role model to all those whose lives he touched. I feel truly blessed to have been able to meet him and work with him.



My thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to Kathy, Sara, and Mike Jr. I miss Mike deeply after knowing him only a short time. I can only imagine what it must be like to those who were lucky enough to have him as family.

Mr. Dice was a remarkable teacher and one of my greatest encouragers. I was a student of his at Lake Park high school from 1986-1990.



I am now working as a professional opera singer. No one since has taught me as much about acting. He truly laid the foundation for my art.



He was incredibly talented and made me feel like I could do anything. I can not express how his instruction and treatment of theatre at Lake Park has affected me.



As a participant in his plays all four years of high school I always knew I was part of something great. All of us who participated knew this and we were proud. We were proud to be part of someting so wonderful.

More than just a teacher, Mr. Dice will be forever held in highest esteem as mentor and friend. Through his guidance he taught not only acting, but life. His joy and faith to his art(s), both teaching and theatre, will be deeply missed. Into the Lords hands we commend this faithful servant.

What can write about the one person who formed my life? Because of Mr. Dice's warmth, humor, talent and most importantly, his belief in me, I am now a playwright and director. He showed me the love of my art and that I could be and do anything I wanted if I believed in myself. I can never repay the great gift he gave to me. To his wife and children, my deepest thoughts and prayers are with you.

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Mike had such a tremendous influence on me. I became an actor partly because of his inspiration and encouragement. He introduced me to the great plays and to my own talent. He will be forever missed.

His ability to reach the otherwise unreachable through his 'high energy' drama classes speaks volumes for his love of the subject.
