Mike and I worked together over 25 years ago at the Oak Brook Data Center while I was attending school. After reading a short story about a high school basketball team, I thought of Mike as I know he use to write for the Sun Times Prep section. Even though we haven't spoken in years, I truly felt horrible after learning of his passing. He was a great, funny guy. My prayers are with his family. Tim Shroyer (Hinsdale)

I'm so sorry I was out of town when this tragedy happened. Much to my dismay I missed the wake. I would have liked to talk to his family and tell them what a wonderful guy I thought Mike was. He was a great leader and outstanding member of EBC. He always seemed to be happy and well balanced. He and I seemed to think much the same. Scary... I will miss him very much.

I'll never forget how easy it was for Mr. Cosentino to make our team laugh with his witty comments...or how he always used to jokingly nag me about taking off my watch or earrings. He was truly a bright spirit who had a genuine love for softball, along with sports in general. He made a strong impact on the Phillies team, as well as the coaches, and always will be remembered in my heart as a wonderful man. Most importantly, I know he was an amazing friend and father to Micaella, who will always be my sister and one of my best friends. Micaella, I love you with all my heart. We will never forget his memory, and I know for a fact that you will live through it as he's smiling down upon you.

Mike was a good friend and I had the pleasure to umpire with him through the Suburban Umpire Association. One of the funniest moments is that Mike and I had been scheduled to officiate games in Elmwood Park. I had arrived early...had opened my car....and to pass the time I had my stereo loudly playing Frank Sinatra. Mike pulled up and asked if he could talk to me a second about something. I of course said sure..."What's on you're mind."...He said "Jim, just because your're in Elmwood Park....doesn't mean you have to play Sinatra.".....Gonna a miss a good pal......Jim Shay SUA #43

As softball has become more popular, more softball players must be in heaven. Our Lord must have been in need of a perpetually smiling coach, umpire, and scorekeeper who can understand the players as only a truly devoted father would. Who better to fill the position. So Mike, while assisting the big guy, keep the one's you had to temporarily leave behind d in your prayers. We will miss you. We will be praying for Micki, Nick, and your loved ones who will need understanding and faith to get through their loss. May God watch over them.

Rest in peace Mike. Thank you for all of the years you spent with the Glen Ellyn Phillies, and loving each of the girls you coached and worked with over the years like your own. Heaven not only has a man to keep the score and statistics, but a man who can make the calls behind the plate!

Our prayers are with all of you!
During these difficult times, please reflect on the good times shared with Mike. Our family fondly remembers Mike's warm smile and helping nature. These characteristics were apparent from the first day we met him in BBAA throughout our days together at Fischer, Churchville and York. Mike was always a champion for all children and a gentleman! His short time on earth has made the world a better place. The Harrell family
