Happy Heavenly Birthday Mickey! Love and Miss You My Best Friend.

Randy & Patti ZELEZNAK

August 16, 2018

It's mid-August 2018, and I just cannot believe how very long it's been since you've been gone from this Earth :'( </3 ... Our eldest daughter is an EMT-B and working full-time at a hospital ER in another state ... Our youngest daughter is in Internet Sales at a suburban auto dealership full-time, and also has an additional part-time job at a fitness club ... Randy got his Master's Degree in Software Engineering from DePaul in 2008, the same year our youngest - Allie - graduated from McAuley. I'm back getting chemo infusions for my Vasculitis duo, yes it's flaring up badly, so next time you've got His ear, ask Him to help my doctors keep me alive & thriving. Also ask Him to bless Randy's job search, so he can get back to work & thereby feel better about himself while keeping us moving onward & upward. We miss you muchly, Mick </3 </3

I was thinking about all the wonderful people we've had to say a final 'good-bye' to this past year or so: my Mom, Randy's Mom ... it's been really hard to weather that kind of loss ... but Mickey, I swear that I always think about you around this time of year - baseball season - and this year is no different. I still keep expecting to see that blinding smile of yours and that shock of blonde hair peeking out from underneath a ball cap, and it still hurts like hell to know that'll never be the case again. Your personality was brilliant like the sun on a bright summer's day in the Windy City, and its' loss to those of us fortunate enough to have been acquainted with you in any way/on any level is still felt most every day. Keep shining brightly, Mickey ~ be your family's 'North Star', even if you all ARE South siders ;)

Dearest Bilek Family:

Once again it is spring (ish - :) ), and my husband's (as many other young-er/ish men's) 'fancy' is turning to that wonderful sport of baseball.

Mickey's presence on my husband's former team, as well as the ability to compete honorably against his new team when that occurred, was something both Randy and I looked forward to with greatest anticipation and warm smiles due to warm memories and Mick's never-faltering (to us, at least) upbeat mood and seriously infectious beautiful white smile, not to mention the high level of play and sportsmanship he brought with himself to every game.

He will, once again as always, be very sorely missed this baseball season - as he also is by both of us the entire year-round.

I carry his holy card with that wonderful picture of him on it with me wherever I go, and when I'm down or blue, I just think about how he welcomed Randy and I into his heart and his life with no reservations or judgments.

That was the most precious gift he could have ever given either of us, and we only wish that we could have given him as much back as often and as unhesitatingly as he deserved.

We miss you, Mick - and the wonderful memories of the time we spent together as friends by choice are no substitute for your absence and the heartache we always feel whenever we remember your all-too-early passing from this life into the next.

All we can hope for is to see you again when our life's journey is over, too.

Dear Bilek Family

I have just received news of what happened to Mickey. I have to be honest when I first heard the news I literally fell to the ground & started to break down. I had been trying to reach him for some time. Needless to say this came to a surprise to me & this literally brought me to my knees (as I'm sure it did to you), I often find myself breaking down facing the reality that he is no longer here. My hearts breaks most of all for you The Bileks & Blaine. I know how much Mickey meant to you, I loved the fact that he came from a big family (that is something we had in common).

With that said to shed a little light on such a tragic reality one thing my mother always said is "There is strength in numbers", meaning even in one of the biggest challenges or battles in life the strength of a big family will persevere through any tragedy through the strength of its brothers, sisters, father, mother etc. With that said I know that you will all be together again in Paradise!

I wish I would have know sooner or had the chance to see him one last time. I had no other way to reach you all I hope this finds its way to you.

May God be with & always give you peace!
Sincerely
My deepest apologies & condolences
Dawn Elise Sawicki

P.S. Mickey I miss You, I hope you know how much I cared.

Uncle Mickey,
Not a day goes by:
That your not on my mind.
Not a day goes by:
That my heart doesnt ache for you to be here.
Not a day goes by:
That I dont shed a tear, missing you so much.
Not a day goes by:
That my body doesnt shakes because Im so angry that your gone.
Not a day goes by:
That I dont wish I could give you one last hug.

I hate that your not here.
I hate it even more how everything turned out.
I miss you, uncle mickey!
SOO SOO MUCH!

P.S. I hope your happier where ever you are.

Mickey,
We thought of you today,
But that is nothing new
We thought of you yesterday
And will tomorrow, too.

We think of you in silence
And make no outward show.
For what it meant to lose you
Only those who love you know.

Remembering you is easy,
We do it everyday.
It's the heartache of losing you
That will never go away.

We will never be able to express our deepest appreciation that everyone of you have shown to us since Mickey's death. From the moment everyone heard the news, we were surrounded by your love and support and for that, there will never be enough words to express how we feel. Thank you for everything and for just being with us. Keep Mickey in your prayers and remember the GREAT SON, BROTHER, UNCLE, DAD AND FRIEND he was.

Love, The Bilek Family

It's been almost six months since you left us with a HUGE hole in our hearts where we loved you as one of the best friends EITHER of us has ever had in our lives. We think of you very often, and my heart is very heavy and sad knowing your brilliant smile and kind ways will not be gracing our lives any longer. Every time we pass by your parents' home driving through West Lawn - every time we are in the Palos area heading towards family, friends or shopping at Orland Square Mall - every time we hear something on the radio or TV about baseball - there are just SO many great memories we have of the much-too-short amount of time we were blessed to be friends with you, Mick ... you CANNOT AND WILL NEVER BE REPLACED in our hearts, and you will forever be missed as well.

Jerry & Bunny Hacker

February 7, 2007

Dear Agnes, Bud & Family,
Just tonight we heard of your deep loss. We cannot express the sadness in our hearts. We have such fond memories of Mickey growing up, playing baseball, football, basketball--always smiling and personable.
We met Mickey at the airport a couple of years back. He was running to catch the same flight we were on to LasVegas. When we landed, he called his "mom", just to tell her he was all right. He ended the conversation with "I love you, Mom"....and he did love you all. He has landed safely in God's arms.
You are in our thoughts and prayers and will remain there. God bless you. Love, The Hacker Family, Jerry, Bunny, Jerry Jr. & Family, Mark & Family

To... my dancing partner, true friend, and confidant...I miss you. I still can't believe it. I reminisce on all the special times that we spent together, the laughter, and the not-so-smooth, times. We were so much alike. I will never forget all the times you pulled me through tough times, always on my side, I love you for that. You are special and brought so much joy to everyone, so giving and never expecting anything in return. True. Genuine. Loved.

Bud and Aggie,
I am very saddened by the news of Mickeys passing. Mom, let me know the other day. I was struck by the tradegy. My mind raced back 30 years instantly. I will always have an image of young Mick walking the sidewalk at WestLawn Park, bat slung over his shoulder leaving another baseball practice behind him. We always knew then he would be a helluva ballplayer out of the bunch of those Bilek Boys. He's playing ball everyday now. The Love and tremendous bond your family has displayed, is something to cherish and hold dear. We all admire that. I have six little ones myself now Bud, they are all gifts on loan to us. I still remember the examples you set as my "Coach". They taught me how important it was to show that you care. Mick had those gifts and passed them on to all his players, family and friends. It is a legacy that will repeat itself a thousand fold. Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your family.
God Bless,
Mike (M&M) Morgan

Mickey had a way of making an amateur artist feel like Picasso, a funny guy feel like Dave Chapelle, and the average Joe feel like a CEO.

He was always bettering people's lives with his words of wisdom and sense of humor. He was always trying to make people happy- and he always succeeded. He presence will be greatly missed...all though he will always be up there smiling down :D

I am so sorry to hear this news. I haven't seen Mickey in many years, but wayy back when, we played in Little League at Westlawn together and also played street hockey a few times in the alley. Mickey was always a cool guy, and was always fun to be around. My he rest in peace.

Dear Mr and Mrs B, Cathy, Frank, Johnny, Noisy and Joey,

We were so saddened to hear about Mickey. It's been so long since I've seen anyone! Seems like just yesterday that I was getting stitches in my head from Mickey throwing the tennis racquet! I will always remember Mickey as a kid brother, always busy and always smiling! He will be greatly missed. Please know that you will always be in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Bilek and Family,

We are sooo very sorry for your incredible loss, Mickey was a great guy, I have so many fond grammar school memories at St. mary's, dodging Sister Igna, crayons fights in the classroom, school dances, memories of us growing up, the parties, and the occassional sightings back in the neighborhood. Mickey will be greatly missed, he was an all around great guy, May you know you are in our thoughts and prayers, may God grant you the serenity to handle this very difficult time. Mickey may you rest in peace and remain in our hearts forever.
