Mercedes Mickevicius Obituary

Sister Mercedes Mickevicius SSC, 92, beloved member of the Sisters of St. Casimir for 72 years, died October 1, 2007. A native of Chicago, IL, Sister served as a teacher on the elementary and seconday levels and was an outstanding artist. Sister is survived by her nieces, Carol Stauder, Bernice Matis, Denise Szott-Casoti and nephews, Daniel Matis, Ronald Matis and Larry Szott. Visitation Thursday, October 4, 2007, 3 to 7 p.m., at the Sisters of St. Casimir Motherhouse, 2601 W. Marquette Rd., Chicago. Funeral Mass Friday, 10 a.m., at the Motherhouse Chapel.
