Mera Lome Obituary

I'm Heather Siegel's sister-in-law. I just wanted to extend my symapthy. When I first found out about Heather's friend Mera and the illness, I was so surprised. To go through the time with Heather regarding Mera was as if I knew Mera, too. I am thinking of you often and feel for all you have been through.

I was so sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Mera. As her tennis partner for several years, Mera was a delightful and wonderful friend. She was so talented and so sweet and our tennis group will always miss her. I am sure she is smiling down on all of us from the other side. I am so unbelievably sad to hear about Mera. I have been thinking about her constantly and wish that there was something I could do or say to comfort you all at this time. When I think about Mera, I think about Michiana, about singing songs on the porch at day camp and about the time that she came to our old log cabin late at night and "kid-napped" Ali and me and took us to Al's. I think about our Thanksgivings together and seeing Mera's big beautiful smile and about our time playing and laughing on the Michiana beach. I think about my summer with her as an intern at EXTRA! - by far the best summer job I ever had, and all due to Mera. I was so proud to work with her in her office in New York and am so grateful I was able to spend that time with her. I will always think of Mera and never forget her. I feel lucky that she was in my life.

We went to dinner and a social event, we had a great time that evening, it was a pleasure to know her.

I heard about her situation shortly after, we sent out prayer emails on her behalf that circulated all over the world.
Ironically the emails connected me with a cousin of Mera's, Sara Aviva and we continued praying daily for her.
