As a blind veteran from Long Island I always enjoyed Melovy's presence at the TEE Tournaments. It was enjoyable that Melovy & her granddaughter sat at my table during the annual Blind Veterans National Chapter of the DAV breakfast. It was during this convention that Melovy was honored as the Volunteer of the Year of the DAV.
She will be missed by all who knew her.

Melody was a true inspiration to everybody she came in contact with, including me. She had a strong passion volunteering at the Blind Center and with the veterans and was well liked. My condolences to her family.

Melody dedicated her life to serving Blind and Visually Impaired Veterans and logged over 17,500 hours of volunter hours. She will be greatly missed by the Veterans and staff at the Central Blind Rehabilitation Center at Hines VA Hospital. The holidays will not be the same without her home cooked meals for the Blind Center Vets.
