Mattie Threat Obituary

Threat, Mattie L. age 73, passed away Sunday, October 26, 2003, at Arbor Hospice Residence. She was born March 7, 1930 in Macon, GA, the daughter of Ellis and Mae Frances (Barber) Russell. On June 4, 1950, she married Charles Threat in Chicago and he preceded her in death March 26, 2002. Faithful member of Christ Universal Temple in Chicago, then Straight Gate Apostolic Church in West Willow and finally, New Bethel Church of God in Christ in Ypsilanti. Survivors include two daughters, Cecile (Lawrence) Jordon of Il and Telisa Threat of Ypsilanti, three sons, Rev. Wesley (Janice) of Mo., Armand of Ypsilanti and Timothy (Theresa) of Ypsilanti, 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, loving cousin, Joyce (Sylvester) Powell of Il and a host of church family and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents. The funeral service will be 11:30 a.m., Friday, October 31, at Stark Funeral Service Moore Memorial Chapel with Rev. Wesley G. Threat of Second Missionary Baptist Church of Columbia, Mo. officiating. Burial will follow in United Memorial Gardens. The family hour and visitation will be at the funeral home from 10:30 a.m. until time of service, Friday. Info. 734-482-4900
