I remember watching Handy Manny with you and you falling asleep 5 minutes into the show. I also remember you reading to me for hours and hours. I miss you. Happy Belated Birthday.

Had an experience tonight working my side job and afterwards realized you were watching over me. Thank you. I appreciate you keeping an eye on me! I believe you are my guardian angel! Life has a strange twist every now and then. I'm sitting in my back yard just doing some thinking and your name popped in my head. I searched on my phone for your obituary, and saw the date, Dec. 31. I forgot what year, but it was in high school, that i was at the hospital with you on Dec. 31 and celebrated the new year. So true about Matt. I worked with him for many years and my heart still aches for his laughter and his ability to get everyone through the tough times at work. He was a very special man. Can't believe to this day that he is gone.

I was thinking of you today. I'm facing some challenges at work regarding doing the right thing and sticking it out vs doing what others order me to do. I looked back to our talks and what dad taught us at an early age and you gave me strength to do the right thing. I'll deal with what follows but I'll always know I did what was right. Two of the most influential people in my life are you and dad. Dad taught me to do the right thing, you taught me follow my heart in doing the right thing. Some of the most difficult decisions I've ever made have been guided by our talks. I really miss them. I think of you always and will love you forever.

Missing you never gets any easier. We still talk about you everyday. You were one of a kind and a beautiful soul.

Matthew, I've been thinking of you so much lately. I helped some friends of mine tonight who were in a rough place. I could have easily told them I was busy or made some easy excuse not to do the right thing. I thought of you and all of the times you helped me when I needed your help. I did my part with you on my mind and in my prayers. Matthew, you really taught me what it means to give of one's self and be generous to others. The look in their eyes, the kind words let me know that you live on through me and others. I wouldn't be who I am today if it wasn't for you. Thank you for being a great brother and mentor. Many prayers said in recent weeks for Matt's family. I think of him often while working on my projects at Quintiles and recall his wonderful sense of humor and communication style.
