Matthew Peterson Obituary

Peterson, Matthew Charles age 30, of New York City, passed away on June 13, 2006, after a long and brave struggle with Ewing's Sarcoma, beloved son of the late Matthew Peterson and of Charlotte Peterson-Brandenburg, step son of John R. Brandenburg and step brother of John H. Brandenburg, grandson of the late Charles "gramps" Reardon and Nina Reardon. During his illness Matthew was constantly surrounded by his New York friends especially those from his employer Lehman Brothers, Inc., his church St. Paul The Apostle Catholic Church, his Sunday "ultimate frisbee" players in Central Park, his aunt Lynne and cousin Christine Reardon from Denver as well as his childhood friend Renoir Battle from Chicago all of whom gave him their love and the strength to face the terrible disease that took him from this life at such a young age. Matthew, a life long Chicago Cubs fan, was active in his church and a driving force in the New York chapter of Mustard Seed for whom he raised money and traveled on several occasions to Nicaragua to build facilities for an orphanage. Funeral services: June 16, 2006, 10 a.m., St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 415 W. 59th Street, New York City, Interment Private. Memorials will be appreciated designated for Ewing's Sarcoma research c/o Memorial Sloan-Kettering Hospital, New York City, or, The Mustard Seed Communities, P.O. Box 1200, New York, NY, 10029. Matthew we love you & miss you & wish you peace.
