I only knew Matt through the joy in his father's eyes and the tenderness in his voice when he spoke of his son. Scott, am so sorry for your loss. My family's thoughts & prayers are with you.

Lazzara family, I didn't know Matt very well, he was more of a friend of a friend, but the few times we hung out together were fun and memorable. I'm very sorry for your loss. I hope you find comfort in knowing that Matt made such a positive impression on me in the short time I knew him.

I went to LT with Matt and he made each day a little brighter, not to mention making biology a bit more tolerable. He was an absolutely amazing person and will forever remain in my memory and heart. My prayers are with his family.

My deepest sympathies to you and Michael at this most heartbreaking time. I remember the boys coming to see you on the weekends when I lived next door to you on Drummond. Matt was always so kind to PJ and would play with him even though he was so much younger. I cannot imagine the loss you are feeling right now. My deepest sympathies to all of Matt's family, especially Cathy. All of the McCormack's have been praying for Matt's recovery for a long time entrusting your health to St. Josemaria the founder of Opus Dei. Certainly now you are together and he will intercede for you in the hands of Our Lord and show you the peace and love of Jesus Christ.

I had the pleasure of working with Matt at Oberweiss and attending LTHS with him. Matt was such a joy, so caring, and always so considerate. He also was my inspiration to dye my hair blue. I will miss his smile, his wit, and the love he shared with those around him.

Scott: My abiding memory is of you sitting in front an office window blind which appeared innocuous when the slats were open. But when you wanted to rebuff an unwelcome demand, you would - with one defiant sweep of your arm - close the slats to reveal a giant NO!!! I wish you could have said NO to this tragedy. But some things are not that easy. My condolences; I am heartsick for you.

I was in a few of Matt's classes at LT and one thing I will always remember is that he was absolutely brimming with energy. He had the wit to make you laugh and the intelligence to make you think.

Matt, for what it's worth you and I did yearbook cover for Mcclure during the 93-94 year. Now that I look at the cover it cracks me up to think that you hated what I drew. You told me the bulldog looked like Taz. I should've just let you draw the whole thing. You were always a great friend in art class and made me love Metallica. That yearbook is on my wall now. I'll always remember your extreme talent in art and how you were always such a great friend to me. May you rest in peace.

An old friend from School. Miss you man, the world lost one of the good ones.

I'll never forget Matt being one of the first people I met at the LT Future Freshman dance in 8th grade, and him always keeping everything exciting in PE class and the halls of LT, He was an incredible

person and will be greatly missed, my thoughts and prayers are with the Lazzara family.

Dear Matt, From celebrating Chinese New Year when you were six, to your blue-haired help at the warehouse, you've always been a joy to have around. We'll miss you, Matt! Nancy Benjamin, Kirk Markus and the folks at Artifacts

We will miss Matt dearly. We are honored to have lived with him for a short while. Just to have known and spent time with him has impacted our lives greatly and is more than anyone could ask for. Our deepest sympathy goes to Matt's family.

I was deeply saddened to hear about Matt's passing. I have many memories of him from my PE class. He was a funny and crazy guy and I always remember that he took up the cause of fighting against the parking fees around the school and railroad tracks. May he rest in peace.

I dont know what to say about Matt except that he was one of the most caring and giving people I have ever had the luck to be friends with. My deepest sympathy to all his friends and family.

Dear Lazzara Family, my prayers are with you at this difficult time. My daughter Elizabeth was friends with Matt, and he spent some time at our house during highschool(after band at Grand with Will) Matt was a fun loving, very nice boy who will be missed by all who knew him. we are all greatly saddened by Matt's death.
