I was so sorry to hear about this. I was a classmate of Nick's at Walker, and I remember Matt as well. My thoughts are with the entire Kiritsy family during this sad time.

Matt has a gentle and creative soul. We are blessed to have known him. I am saddened by the news and pray for the comfort of his family.

I will never forget Matt as a warm and loving person. I taught him for two years and tutored him in Spanish. Shirley and Phil, I know you will miss him greatly, and Nicolas, you were a good brother who never quite understood why that terrible accident happened to Matt. We all know that God has a better plan that we do not realize, and, for some reason, Matthew is gone. The word "SORRY" is not a great word, but I cannot think of another one. Matt was a dedicated piper and a great guy with a kind heart. We sat together in the warehouse and sanded and bridled his balking, squawking old reed and got it to work for him! His piping was beyond his "level" and we all would have loved to see him reach his pinnacle. Matt was a fine musician. God will give him a cosmic chanter that could shake an entire galaxy.

It was my privilege to know Matt as a fine, aspiring young uilleann piper for several years. Having helped him on several occasions as a fellow piper, I was inspired by his spirit of optimism and perseverance. The music world is sorry to lose him. May the Lord receive him.
