Matthew Kasprzyk Obituary

Kasprzyk, Matthew

Keep me in your heart for awhile…MK

Born December 27, 1948, Matt lost his battle with cancer on December 17, 2020. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Maripat McNulty after being reunited in 1998. He is survived by his sister Cecelia (Ron) Dibbern and his brother Dennis Kasprzyk and step daughters Regan Tieff and Brianne Fadale. He truly loved his nieces and nephews – Mary (Greg) Cappelli, Bill (Deb) Dibbern, Mark (Peggy) Kasprzyk, Gennevieve and Natasha – and all of his great nieces and nephews. One of his favorite activities was playing competitive group games with all the family at holiday gatherings.

Matt's family lived in Logan Square for generations. He moved to Villa Park in 2012, but always considered himself a "city boy". He followed all the Chicago sports teams (except the Sox). He was a Union Carpenter working mostly on exhibition show construction at McCormick Place, but also worked at exhibition halls across the country. He appreciated the opportunity to travel for his job, learning as much as possible about each city visited. Matt will be remembered for his slightly gruff exterior which hid his sweet, soft, kind, loving and generous soul. He enjoyed talking to his neighbors and their kids and spoiling their dogs with treats.
