Matteo Maggio Obituary

Maggio, Matteo (Matthew) 70, of Freeport, Illinois, died October 15, 2002, at home. He was born November 16, 1931, the son of Joseph and Elisa Maggio, in Chicago. He married Carol Gardner in 1956. He taught at Jackson and Jefferson Junior High Schools and Willowbrook High School, all in Villa Park, Illinois, for thirty years. Matteo is survived by his wife, daughters Lisa (Thomas Reilly) and Frances (Roger Reeves), granddaughters Lily Reeves and Nyssa Reilly, brothers Andrew and Sam, and sister Rosalie Davis, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. A memorial buffet luncheon will be held on his 71st birthday, November 16, at Cucina Paradiso, 814 North Boulevard in Oak Park, Illinois, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., for relatives, friends and former students.
