Matt Foster Obituary

On November 8th, 2011, Matt (James Matthew) Foster left this world and fell into the loving arms of Jesus Christ. Matt was met in heaven by his dad James Foster, who passed in 2005, his grandma Mildred Duke, and great grandmother Hessie Cole. He was also greeted by his beloved Yorkshire Terriers, Jasmine and Ben.

Matt was also preceded in passing by his paternal grandparents, James H., and Virginia E. Foster.

Matt's life was filled with people who loved and cared about him. He was kind and gentle and loved animals and had many cherished acquaintances that revolved around his pets. Matt was an avid sports fan and loved classic rock music. He is survived by his mother, Virginia Foster, sister Susan Gerstner, her husband Ron, and their son, Kyle. Sister Cate Fosl and her family, husband Peter, and sons Elijah and Isaac. Also, his niece Jennifer Traynor and her children, Cody, Ethan, Chelsea, and Madison. He is survived by two favorite aunts: Louise Cole & family and Helen Wanty & family. He is also survived by his best friend Sonny Boyer. Matt had too many friends to list here, but please know that he loved and appreciated each and every one of you. Matt was a hero in his passing, as he donated his organs and was able to give the gift of life to others.

We would like to thank the wonderful staff at Theda Clark ICU, and the incredible folks on the organ retrieval team from UW Madison Hospital. We would like to thank Valley Funeral Home for all their help and support. We would also like to thank our friends and family for their kindness, thoughts and prayers. The out pouring of generosity from the members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church has been a true blessing.

Matt's life will be celebrated at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church on Calumet Street on Friday, 12/2/11 at 6:30pm.
