Matilda Bakota Obituary

Bakota, Matilda "Tilly" 90, of Grayslake, (formerly of Chicago), passed away Thursday, August 28, 2003, at Lake Forest Hospital. She was born in Chicago on July 12, 1913, the daughter of the late Andrew and Emily (nee Pinawarczk) Stanaszek. She is a life-long Chicagoan who was a member of St. Richard Catholic Church. She moved to Grayslake in 1995 and became a member of St. Gilbert Catholic Church. She is survived by her sons, Daniel (Janice) Bakota of Grayslake and Thomas (Kathy) Bakota of Tinley Park, her grandchildren, Kristin (Chase) Laplaca of Chicago, Nicole Bakota and Caitlyn Bakota both of Grayslake and Jill Bakota and Kim Bakota both of Tinley Park. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Bakota (in 1982) and her sisters, Gertrude Szpuner and Betty Major. Visitation is from 4 to 8 p.m., on Friday, August 29, 2003, at Strang Funeral Chapel & Crematorium, LTD, 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL, 60030. Her funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m., on Saturday, August 30, 2003, at St. Gilbert Catholic Church (chapel), 301 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake, IL. Family and friends will meet at 1 p.m., for graveside services at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 7201 S. Archer Ave., Justice, IL. For more information call: 847-223-8122.
