Mary Wilson Obituary

Mary Wilson
May 23, 1921 - Dec 18, 2015
Resident of Forest Grove, OR
On Dec 18th, 2015, in Forest Grove, Oregon, her home for the past year, Mary T. Wilson passed away peacefully.
Mary, age 94, was the last surviving child born to Frank and Lena Tardio, two of Monterey's early Sicilian immigrants, and a proud local fishing industry family. Mary was preceded in death by Garnet, her husband of 60 years; brothers Joe & Buster Tardio; sisters Jenny Conte & Lena Campo. She is survived by her two children Gloria Logan (Monterey) & Garnet (Trudy) Wilson (Forest Grove, OR); Brother-in-law Danny Campo & Sister-in-law Mary Tardio; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild: numerous nieces, nephews & cousins; and friends including Robert Williams & members of her bible study groups.
A proud Monterey native, Mary began working in the canneries as a teenager, also working for the school district before becoming known as "the voice of Monterey Savings" to many on the Peninsula. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Mary was called home a week before her Lord's birthday... remember her with the Peace and Joy she surely feels now.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the SPCA for Monterey County in Mary Wilson's name.
