Mary Sheffield Obituary

Mary Irene Sheffield, 93 of Shamrock, Texas died Tuesday, September 25th at the Wheeler Nursing Home and Rehab Center under the care of Odyssey Hospice Care of Amarillo. She was born November 6, 1913 in Dallas, Texas to J.W. Franck and Allie Irene Franck. She lived and worked most of her life in Dallas and Denton County. She served in the VFW as District President in East Texas. A position that she felt honored to hold and worked with devotion to the veterans of our country. She was also a member of the American Legion in Shamrock, Texas.

She is survived by her only daughter, Mary Lou Clay; her grandchildren Nancy Freeman and Sheryl Norred of Midland, Texas, Eldon Garrison of Aztec, New Mexico, and Keith Garrison of Shamrock, Texas; and nine great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband John F. Sheffield, Jr., her sister, Dixie McGuire, and a brother J.W. Franck, Jr., and one granddaughter.

Graveside services will be Saturday, September 29th at 11:30 a.m. at the Laurel Land Cemetery, 6000 S. R.L Thornton Freeway, Dallas, Texas.
