Mary Palmer Obituary

Mary Duda Palmer 1916 - 2008 ADAMS Mary Theresa Duda Palmer, 91, formerly of 4 Columbia St., died Thursday afternoon, March 6, 2008, at Williamstown Commons Care Center. Born in Adams on June 1, 1916, daughter of Henry and Ludwika Tuslen Oparowski, she attended Adams schools. Mrs. Palmer first worked for the former Berkshire Hathaway Inc. in Adams as a Spinner for 20 years. She then for the former Hunter Outdoor Products in North Adams for 10 years, retiring in 1981. Mrs. Palmer was a communicant of St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, where she was a member of the Rosary Sodality. She was also member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Her first husband, Joseph A. Duda died July 24, 1965. Her second husband, Earl G. Palmer, whom she married Sept. 14, 1968, died July 4, 2005. She leaves a son, Joseph A. Duda Jr. and his wife, Lucille, of Windsor; two brothers, Matthew Oparowski of Cheshire and Stanley Oparowski of Adams; a sister, Blanche Morin of Adams; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by adaughter, Irene Parkhurst; a sister, Ann Gallager, and a brother, Walter Oparowski. FUNERAL NOTICE: The funeral for Mary Theresa Palmer will take place Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at 9 a.m. from the TROTTIERR-PRINGLE FUNERAL HOME, 6 Summer St., Adams, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, celebrated by the Rev. Daniel J. Boyle, pastor of the Catholic Community of Adams. Burial will take place in the Spring in St. Stanislaus Kostka Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m..
