Mary was my boss for a time at the University of Virginia Science and Technology Information Center (library). She had a sharp mind, a living faith, and a ready sense of humor. I remember her joy at a rare snowstorm when she had a chance to try out her cross-country skiis. We kept in touch via Christmas cards, so I'm finding out a bit late, but my prayers are with her family and friends nonetheless.

I worked with Mary for several years. She had a great sense of humor I liked her a lot. Was saddened to hear of her passing.
We talked about she and her mother coming to Western Carolina Univ. for Mountain Heritage days. I live in Cashiers which is about 14 miles from WCU. I always think about her when we pass the college. Shirley Slaughter Cashiers NC

Mary was a wonderful, sweet person and I loved working with her during my work at Cobb Schools. She was a hard worker and was always committed to the needs of her fellow co-workers as the users of her programming and our every day needs and cares. When you saw Mary and she asked you "How are you?", you knew she really wanted to know how you felt and if you were having a good day or not. Please accept my heartfelt prayers and sorrow for your loss of Mary, such a caring and giving woman. She will be missed so much. God bless and keep you and give you peace and comfort.
