To Mary’s Family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time.
I worked with Mary at the Assessor’s Office and will always remember her for her sense of humor, kind words and quick smile. She touched the hearts of all those with whom she came in contact.
It was evident how much everyone loved Mary. The size of her wake and funeral said it all – what a beautiful tribute.
I am so very sorry for your loss.

Dear Ed, Anne, Brendan and Murray Family,
My deepest sympathies to you. I feel blessed to have known Mary and will always remember her glowing smile and her kind, generous spirit. She was very encouraging and helpful during the tough, early days with my twin boys. I'll never forget canning jam and pickles in Debbie M's basement or eating cherry berry pie and collecting stones in Petoskey. Every time I think of Mary, I'll smile.

Dear Ed,Annie,Brendan and the whole Murray family,
I can still remember the first day I met Mary. She was the sweetest person! I liked her so much! And, over the last 7 or 8 years, I grew to love her more and more. I feel blessed to have known her. She was truly an angel on earth. She was so good and kind towards everyone! And now, we all have a very special angel watching over us. Thank you for sharing your angel with us. May God bless all of you.

Dear John and Jane & Family,
I spoke with Mary Kay last year shortly after her diagnosis. We talked at length about her upcoming treatment, and what it is like going through such an ordeal. We spoke of how an upbeat attitude is the only one to have since, as victims of the disease, we have no choice but to face the challenges ahead. Mary Kay was confident and upbeat from the get-go. She needed little encouragement about assuming a positive attitude. I am comforted knowing that the time she had remaining was spent operating from a positive frame of mind. I am sorry for her passing, but at the same time happy for her that the time she spent prior to her departure was the best it could have been given the circumstances. She is, and will remain an inspiration to all of us facing such challenges.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Murray, Ed and everyone:
Wasn't it just yesterday that Mary and I were driving my 1976 Dodge Charger (green with one yellow door) to New Orleans for Mardi Gras? And only a few hours ago that I was riding a train to Termini to visit her at Loyola's Rome Center? Ours wasn't just a friendship but an exciting journey. Ever optimistic, always smiling and never cynical, Mary impressed everyone with her dignity and charm. I will never, ever forget her beautiful self.
Love, Melissa George-Lindland

How saddened we are to hear of Mary's passing. We are honored to say we are among those lucky enough to have known and loved such a wonderful woman. We will never forget her smile and how happy she always was. Mary and Ed, and Anne and Brendan were a source of great encouragement to us as we started our own family. We can only hope to live our lives as Mary did and to cherish every moment with our friends and family, as she did. Mary was an inspiration and a great example of someone who loved life and all those around her. We will truly miss her. Our thoughts and prayers are with Ed, Anne and Brendan, and all who have been touched by Mary. She will live in our hearts and memories forever.

Dear Ed, Anne, Brendan and families:
I want to express my deepest sympathy during this very difficult time. It is hard to believe that it has been almost 20 years since Mary and all of her fellow Loyola University Rome Center alumni shared one of the greatest experiences in our lives. During our 4 months away from home, Mary's kind personality and warm smile brightened each and everyday. She helped strengthen the bond we developed as young students in an unfamiliar country, enjoyed the beauty of all the places she traveled and created wonderful memories with all her friends. Know that past memories and Mary's character bring great comfort and joy to all our lives. They serve as our connection to Mary and remind us how we should live our lives. May the Lord bless all of you, her family. You shall be in our thoughts and prayers.

It is with such saddness that I write this. I am so incredibly blessed to have had the honor to know Mary. Her beauty, grace and courage is something I will never forget and will forever try to emulate. I will never forget her smiling face, her positive attitude, her love of life and most importantly, her love for Ed and the twins. I will always remember the fun we had at the beach at Lake Michigan, the bon fires with our kids and our long talks on the beach.
Mary has touched so many lives in such a special way - she will be so missed, but I know she is going to be watching us and taking care of all of us - she promised me that! And she promised that we will know she is there when we watch the sunsets next summer and at our first bon fire - Mary, we are all going to be waiting for your sign that you are there!
We all love you, miss you and you will forever live in our hearts.
Sincerely,
Kathy, Ray, Kristopher and Julianne Urrea.
