I meet Mary in 1952, I'm the neice
of Alan & Hannah Hale, I have to say
I'm so blessed for having had her in my life. She was truly amazing woman, with eyes that sparkled, a smile that was so warm & a heart as big as the world. She will be greatly missed for all that was blessed to know her. My sympathy to
Karl & all Marys family.
Love, Pat

First and foremost I would like to extend my deepest sympathy to the family of Mary Kawano. I'm finding it difficult to come up with the words that would allow me to express to everyone how I feel at the moment. I first met Mary many years ago and because of her kindness and generosity I was able to continue my knitting career even after my family immigrated to America in 1986. For this and her endless friendship I will always remember her and her husband Jack, who passed some years ago. For those that knew Mary, I'm sure my story is similar to those you have about her as well.

My mom knew Mary very well and would always call her. Mary would come to our house by herself or with Jack sometimes. She was so nice and sweet.I remember she liked flowers adn sometimes bring one from home for my mom.Everytime, when I was little,my mom and I would walk to her shop to see her or pick something up.She was just full of smiles. She was like a second grandma to me. I was always happy to see her car out side my house. My mom and I will miss her dearly and wish the best for her family.
