To the family of William Kirk and Poppy Hulsey....In August of 1960
my husband and I, Ole and Audrine Olson moved from Shamrock, Texas to Tulia to go to work for John Ziegler and Paul Wimberly who owned and operated Ziegler-Wimberly, Oliver dealership. We knew no one or knew anything about the housing, or rental situation at the time. We
had a 4 month old baby and little money. First, Ziegler-Wimberly made
arrangements for us to live in a one room attic apartment (Cannot
recall their name, but very nice people) while William Kirk and Poppy
made arrangements to clean, repair and update the old house next to
the airport...We will always treasure and remember the kindness and
generosity they gave, not only us but the entire community. We lived in the attic apartment for 4 months and then by the airport about 4 years, before buying a home in town. We later moved on and lost contact with your folks but will always recall those early years of our marriage. (about to celebrate 49th anniversary) No doubt in our minds, they help many people in many different ways. Thoughts and prayers go out to you and your families.
