Dearest Tom,
My heart grieves for your sorrow and loss. In a short span of time I grew to know and love Mary deeply, to feel what it might have been like, or was, to have a sister. I can only imagine the life you and she shared to be something true and beautiful and oh so sweet.

Although I was unable to attend the memorial, you and Mary and the furry ones were within heartbeats.

Permit me to paraphrase a Buddhist principle, be gentle on yourself. Compassion in all things brings calms the blood and breath and brings us closer to the Divine.

Deepest regrets and much love,
Lynn Merrill Weyman

Tom,
It is the biggest struggle in life to say goodbye forever; to never have a chance to talk, to see or to touch the one we love. Mary was a wonderful person and I know that you and your family have suffered a great loss.

Dear Tom,
I'm so saddened to hear of your loss. Even as Mary was struggling with her disease, I felt she was so full of hope and so strong.
Mary was a kindred spirit and lover of plants, who helped make our riverbank the beautiful peaceful place it has become. That, too, is part of her legacy.

We hold her memory in our hearts at each sundown and sunrise,

Pete

To Mary's family,
I met Mary through the Rare Cancer Alliance on-line where we came together as "family" helping one another. Mary was the first to respond to my post with warm words of welcome. She always offered words of encouragement and throughout her battle always managed to uplift us. I will miss her deeply. Just know that she was a warrior and that she has entered the heavens helping others.

To Tom and all of Mary's family:
I was so shocked and saddened to read of Mary's passing in the Tribune today. We worked together years ago at Corbett and ironically I had just mentioned her yesterday in conversation with my husband Ron. She was such a warm, caring person with a great sense of humor. I am truly sorry for your loss.

Dear Tom and Family:

Words cannot express our sadness in the loss of Mary. She touched all who knew her, ourselves included. She fought like a champ against an opponent that did not play fair. We still feel her spirit all around us and will be forever changed for having had her as a friend. Please know that she is with you too as you grieve and try to go on. You were the love of her life and the care you provided as she fought this battle was the true definition of devotion and love. We are here for you for whatever you need.

Love,

Rene and Kevin
