Mary was my employer and my friend some years ago, and provided great help and inspiration to me when I was starting my own practice. She was available for phone discussions, albeit she always said to "go to the source (books)".... I just learned yesterday at a seminar that she had passed; I cannot tell you the sense of loss which I feel for my friend and my colleague. JAMES F. BARR

A fellow member of Independent Writers of Chicago first told us about Mary and how terrific she was as an accountant for writers, creatives and other small businesses. And as a CPA and Illinois CPA Society member I had the utmost confidence in her knowledge and professionalism. And she was a hoot personally, every year when we visited in person to discuss any tax changes. She was also our excuse for renting a car in the city and traveling to Skokie for breakfast!! We will miss her very much.

Mary has been our accountant for at least 15 years. She became like a friend. We loved seeing her and sharing stories. Last year there was no client behind us and she spent an hour talking with us. We will miss her very very much.

Mary has been a friend of our family for twenty years. My Mother originally became a client after the passing of my Father. Over the years she became a good friend to my Mother as well as a trusted accountant for our family. My sincere regrets to her family and coworkers. She will be missed.

We will miss Mary. She was reliable, honest, smart and comforting. My husband and I always loved that she called us "kiddo". Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

I just got the letter telling us of the very sad news. I spoke with Mary in early July- she had promptly ( as always) replied to me regarding a question about guardianship taxes. We have used Mary for our taxes as long as we have lived here in Chicago, and had complete trust in her down to earth answers and advice. Our sincerest sympathies to her family and her employees, she will be sorely missed.

Mary was recommended to me after I inherited money from my father. Although still a "struggling actress", my taxes were more complicated. This was the 8th year she had processed my return. In those years I would call many times to ask many questions and she would always call me "kiddo" (I'm in my late 40s). I was so impressed with her honesty and integrity. I met her a couple of times when I dropped off my papers in person and she seemed to enjoy tax season. I am very saddened by her passing. I loved her letter at the beginning of the year and the way she explained tax changes with a wonderful sense of humor. She will truly be missed. My condolences to her husband, family and Mary & Ray.

I was very saddened to learn of Mary's passing a little while ago. Mary and I worked together and shared an office in the early 1980's and not only was she a wonderful person with a great heart but she was also a top-notch accountant who took on some very sophisticated clients and served them well. May the memories of Mary be for a blessing.

I was very saddened to hear of the loss of our good friend, Mary. She managed to bring both expertise and joy to tax time, no mean feat. We will miss her stern instructions, her knowledge and patience, and her good humor.
It is such a shock. Jerry, we all share in your loss.

I've known Mary through my work for eleven years. She was a genuine person...drawn to the truth and a loving daughter as we talked many times about her aging parents. She was a top notch accountant, teacher and one of Gods own! Kate Walters, Wadsworth, IL

I attended Resurrection High School with Mary. I often see her name listed in the alumnae publications as a generous benefactor or the school. Although we did not "hang out together", I do remember her with respect and admiration. She was a fine young woman then, and I expect a fine grown woman who will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathy

Mary will be very much missed by our family. Ken and I went to Mary and Jerry's wedding as one of our early dates. It was a fun time and you could really see the love in their faces that lasted for 40 years. Yes, Mary will be very much missed.
