Astrin, Marvin H. 84, former Vice-President of WGN Radio, dearly beloved husband of Angie (nee Brown), devoted son-in-law of Alice (the late Harry) Brown, loving stepdad of Francey Oscherwitz (Harold Stone), Dr. Jonny Oscherwitz, and Julie Oscherwitz Grant (Stephen Grant), adoring grandfather of Lucy, Aliza, Pip, Jonah, Ruby, Emily, and Eddie, brother-in-law of Dr. Anthony (Francine) Brown, fond uncle of Roberta Moore, great-uncle of Chris and Kenny. Funeral services Monday, 1:00 p.m. at THE PISER CHAPEL, 9200 N. Skokie Blvd. (at Church St.), Skokie. Interment Westlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Marvin's name to Midwest Palliative and Hospice Care, 2050 Claire Court, Glenview, IL 60025, Would be appreciated. Ah, Marvin - you were one of the kindest, funniest, most caring and delightful people I ever knew. You cared deeply about your family - even your very extended family - but also had a smile, a kind word, and usually a quip for most everyone you encountered. We will all miss your banter, the twinkle in your eye, and your love of life. You made the world a better place for so many.
Marilyn and I are so sorry not to be with the family at this time, but we are sending you all our thoughts and love.
