I met Marty in the early `70´s. We dated for 7 years. We had a lot of good times together. One of the best was when we took a 7 week vacation up into Canada to Banff and Jasper National Parks, across Canada then back to the states through Washington and Oregon until our car broke down and we had to hitchhike home. Luckily we met a young couple with a child who were going East and took us all the way home. I loved him very much and was heartbroken when we split up. I would´ve married him if he´d asked but he wasn´t the marrying type. I loved his family as well. His parents were very dear to me and we kept in touch all these years til they passed away and when I went back home to visit after moving to Montana, I made it a point to visit. This is crazy but when there my best friend Margie, who I also visited, drove me there and her and I went out for a bit with Eileen and when we got back to their house, Tom gave me a bag, a gift. It had a bottle of my favorite dark rum Meyer´s because he had offered Margie and I a beer earlier and I told him I didn´t really like beer, didn´t really drink much at all but if I did it was Meyer´s and either pineapple or orange juice. Anyway the crazy thing is...I still have that bottle and yes with rum still in it. See I told you I don´t drink much. Geez that was like 20 years ago! Crazy but I will have to keep that bottle nevertheless! I did get to talk to Marty when he was sick staying at his mom and dad´s before he passed. Oh I also saw him years after we split up at a restaurant for dinner that I invited my friends to. We didn´t talk much. I guess I still had an attitude for how he broke my heart by breaking up with me, which I regret now. And he called me in MT to tell me our friend Johnny died. I´m sad to say I haven´t kept in touch with Mary and Sheila but always asked about them when I talked to Eileen. Anyway, he was a great guy and I look forward to the day I see him and his parents again in heaven!

My Deepest Condolences to Marty,s Family
I'm sure you have many wonderful memories
Hold them dear and forever in you heart as all of us that have known him will.
I'm one of the many that had the pleasure and privilege to work with Marty.
Great men are not measured by stature but by the way they live their life and treat others. My view of him is a giant among Men. Think of marty's smile I hope it will help ease our loss.
