One year has gone by today. The time goes by so slowly yet so quickly. We miss you every day. We know that you are around us, we feel you every day. We got through this year with minor bruises and scratches and with your help we'll get through each day of this year. Not a day goes by that we don't think of you, talk about you, laugh about you and all your crazy antics that we miss so much. You are forever in our hearts...We love you and miss you always..
Love,
Corinne, Sammie, Nikki, and Jeffrey

I met Marty a few times at Holy Name Society Meetings at St. Germaine and he was a very outgoing and friendly person. He made a "new" guy like me feel welcomed. May he rest in peace in heaven and may he be assured his family will be helped by the family of St. Germaine. Gods speed be with you..

Our hearts and our prayers go out to Corinne, the kids and the families. Of course, we've been doing alot of thinking about Marty this past week and Johnny has had many long conversations lately with old softball buddies (Tom, Gary, Dwayne, Barry). I've heard alot of laughter coming from the frontroom this week. Johnny said that every time he made a catch to end an inning, Marty would say "Beans, that was your 340th catch"...the next time, Marty would say it was his 763rd...then his 1,014th...every time, every game and they played together for 17 years. I got to know Marty through softball when I starting dating Johnny. He always greeted me with that wonderful smile and "What's up, Kath?" and he made me laugh every time I saw him. What amazed me is how positive he was all the time. Even when they would be down 10 runs, Marty never gave up hope and tried to get everyone up with each at bat...sometimes it worked. God must have needed a great third baseman. Marty, we will miss you dearly and think of you often in our prayers. Love, Johnny, Kath & the kids.

Marty was our mailman for the past several years on the 5700 block of McVicker. My 84 year old mother would wait for him the same time everyday to greet him and get the mail directly from him because she could not reach the mail box. He was always there on time. She looked foward to seeing him and talking to him. She always talked about him to me and said he was "The Best Mailman we ever had". My mother, Molly, along with myself, send our deepest sympathy to Marty's family and friends. You are all in our prayers.

Although I met Marty only a couple of years ago - one special meeting comes to mind. This occurred at their Block Party, where Marty was selling split the pot cards to help cover expenses. On back-to-back drawings, Marty sold me the winning card. Him and I joked that maybe I should go back to my own block or a least split the winnings with him. This was the kind of guy Marty was - always willing to pitch-in and help wherever needed. You will be missed! May you rest in peace and God bless your family.

To All of Marty's Family,
You were all certainly very blessed to be a part of Marty's life and he a part of yours. I knew Marty from the old neighborhood. My memories of him are Westlawn, where he worked for sometime. Marty would walk home from work daily down the alley and indeed, Corinne, he would stop and say "Hello" to everyone. I knew Marty only very little, through my brother who used to play hockey with Marty. I recall when I had my first child in "84" taking neighborhood walks - sure enough Marty would be walking by and always had to stop to play a bit and put a smile on my baby's face. His smile for sure will never be forgotten and neither will he. I will keep him and all of you in my prayers always. Anne Hudson

Dear Marty,
When you had your birthday party last Semptember, your friends and family all got up to tell stories about the good or bad times that they had to enjoy with you. I was embarrsed and couldn't get up to tell my happy times with you like the time we went into the wrong type of bar. Even though we had a lot of great times at hockey, the thing I am going to miss most is the way I looked up to you and admired you. I wanted to be like you. You will always be my role model. There is a lot more I wanted to say to you but I will save that for my own personal prayers that will go to you, Corky Sammy, Nickey and Jeffrey. God bless all of you. Love you and
and always
admirring

P.S. Marty I hate the Red Wings but I hope they win the Stanley Cup for you.

Thanks for taking the time to always say hello, shake my hand or share a joke.
Thanks for brightening up our Holy Name events with your contagious smile.

Martin, you were my son-in-law, son, and best friend and I'm going to miss you more than anything. You were the most positive person I've ever known. Nothing bothered you and you accepted everyone with warmth and compassion and for what they were. I'm not going to come up with any "Marty" stories here, but I just want the world to know how much I loved you and will miss you. I want everyone to know how hard Marty worked to keep everything up and going, which included spending all his time with Samantha, Nicole, and Jeffrey, his three great children. His wife, Corinne, and kids were the sunrise and sunset of his life. He was the most dedicated Husband and Father I've ever known. His family was his pride and joy. He will live forever in my heart and mind, and I will never foreget him, not for a moment. He was my best friend.

Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers for Marty and our Family. Marty and I were married for 10 years. We had a wonderful time together but it wasn't nearly enough. Marty and I have three wonderful children. Samantha, Nicole, and Jeffrey. Please keep us in your prayers.
Marty was such a wonderful man who touched many lives too numerous to try to estimate. He always stopped to talk to everyone including strangers. He will be missed by all. We believe Marty is now our own personal Guardian Angel who will look out for all who knew and loved him.
If you knew Marty, he was a lover of life. He enjoyed every single day and wasted no time. He always made his friends and family laugh. We know his memory will live on as he left a piece of himself with everyone he knew. Even in death he was able to give of himself by giving life to others through organ donation.
We will carry him with us always as he watches over us.
Thank You,
Corinne,
Samantha,
Nicole,
and
Jeffrey

Marty Sadecki was an old friend of mine! We grew up together and are St.Turibius alums.Together we attended about 5 sox openers at the old Comiskey park and those games were the most fun I ever had at sporting events. We lost a dear friend in Greg Dockman some years back and now we have lost Marty. The two long time buddies are now reunited. Marty was the person who I believe had so much life in him and was always the life of the party and alot of the best times that I ever had I had with him. I am always going to hold on to my memories of marty, And I will never forget him.

It seems like only yesterday that I played softball with "Moose". We shared many precious Sunday Mornings together sharing great victories and dissapointing losses. Marty was a solid and fierce competitor and I can still see him at third base, I can still hear the encouraging chatter coming from that place where I hold my dearest of memories.
Marty was a gentle man, kind and true, and I am better for having known him.
Over the years I would run into Marty when I was working for UPS I would meet Marty delivering the mail. Often our conversations would last long enough to make me a little late for my next stop, but it was always good for my spirit to share a few stories with him. Today, my thoughts and prayers are with those whom he loved the most, may the Lord grant you peace in this time of sorrow.

Martin,
Lois Berleson called me last night about the loss of your son.
I only met Marty one time. I walk Oak Lawn for exercise and one day while walking, and wearing my Lapham Hickey hat, he stopped me and we had quite a conversation.
My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family.
