Cooney, Martin A. beloved husband of Maureen (nee Healy), loving father of Colleen (Eugene) Giudice, Brian (Debbie C.P.D.), Michael (Cindy), Philip and Kevin (Kathy), loving grandfather of Patrick, Abigail, Siobhan, Maureen, Michael, Conor, Claire, Kevin, Jack, Danny and Maeve, devoted son of the late Sybil and Thomas J., dear brother of Mary "Sis" (the late Philip Klinge and the late Nicholas Schliefer) and the late Thomas J. (Margaret "Peg"), fond uncle to many nieces and nephews. Visitation at the Cooney Funeral Home, 3552 N. Southport Ave., 12 noon to 9 p.m., Friday. Funeral Saturday, 9:30 a.m., to St. Andrew Church.
