Lorenz Family - I thought I signed this last year and now I don't see myself so I don't know what happened. But even though it has been almost a year I just wanted you to know that I think about Mark whenever I go by the house - 7 days a week.
Sincerely yours,
John Delfosse

Krissy,
I attended grammar school with you both and also went to high school with Mark. I found out about Mark's passing today in the St. Pat's alumni newsletter. I remember Mark well as he was the only guy I could really talk Blackhawks hockey with at St. Pascal's. My thoughts and prayers are with you and all of your family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

As a retired Police Officer from England I would like to extend my sympathy to all relatives, friends and colleagues of Mark.
I have been a visitor to Police Week in Washington for the last 6 years and it always saddens me to see more and more Officers added every year on the Memorial Wall.

Mark was a good man. Although I didn't know him well, I knew him through my husband Hanz (in 017 district) his partner for 2 1/2 years. He was always a happy person and will be greatly missed. Mark, I appreciate you being there for Hanz. He really cares about you. I pray that you may find peace and my heart and prayers go to Renata and family.

To the Lorenz Family
Even though I only worked with Mark for a short time, it was very apparent he was a very dedicated and hard working officer. He had a great sense of humor and was there for his fellow officers. He will be greatly missed by those whose lives he touched.
With deepest sympathy for your loss.

I'm still trying to come to grips with this tragic loss. Mark was a good man, and a good police officer. He was always reliable and there when you needed him. I pray for his family and friends, that they may come to grips with this unfortunate event, and never lose the memory of the great person that was Mark Lorenz. May God grant you your place in heaven, and may you rest in peace.

As a civilian, I would like to thank this Officer for his service to us.
As a person who runs a police memorial, this breaks my heart.
If there's anything that the Lorenz family needs then I'm more then willing to donate my time to help to shovel snow, do laundry, watch the children, etc.
Officer Lorenz, may you find peace.

While I was growing up, Mark and I were next door neighbors. Occasionally, we would play catch with a baseball or a football depending on the season.
When Mark married, he moved but we still kept in contact. He was always happy and we would laugh and joke about police work, sports, and other items.
Mark was a great guy and will be missed by many, myself included. My deepest sympathy is with the family. I am truly sorry for your loss.

I worked with Mark in 017. He was a great partner and friend. No matter what type of situation we were in, I was never, ever concerned because I was either following Mark or I knew he had my back. No one was ever sorry to see Mark pull up at one of their jobs. He always carried himself with respect and dignity.
Mark helped alot of people and he probably didn't know how much all his friends cared about him. Being men we never talked about it, but I hope he knew how much I respected him and how much his friendship meant to me.
At the wake yesterday, I was reminded by another one of his former partners, about how sometimes if you were driving with Mark, you might ask him "What do you want to do?" and he would always respond back "I don't know, you're driving." By the same token, when Mark was driving, he was in complete control. You could ask him to stop at 2900 Montrose or to use the bathroom, but other than that everything you did was pretty much Mark's decision. And when I question if there was anything that I anyone could have done, I have to tell myself, that there was nothing that anyone could have done, Mark was driving.
I will always remember Mark with great fondness and pray for him and his family to find peace.

To the family, love ones, friends and fellow police officers of Mark Lorenz:
I wish and pray for those sadden by Mark's passing that while your heart is filled with sadness, you make room in your heart to cheerish and remember the wonderful and great things Mark has done for so many and the lives that he has touched. Nothing can replace a person but the memories and thoughts of how one lived and treated others can last an enternity. Mark is now resting with the angels but the vivid imaginations of others will allow others to keep a small part of him here on this earth. There are many who make more people happy, more people smiling and more people feeling good in the short time they experience on this earth than others who outlive them by decades.
I hope just knowing that so many will think of Mark and the way he touched so many in his life will offers the loves ones a tiny bit of comfort in such a tragic and sad time.
Although Mark has departed, many will see him and his smile when they close their eyes and remember him from now to eternity.
God Bless and my sincere condolences on Mark's passing.

I am so very sorry for your loss. I worked with Mark in 017 off and on for several years. When I came in as a newer sergeant, he quickly became one of my “go to” guys (as he was for everyone else). He will be deeply missed by all those who knew him. I will be praying for him, as well as for all the family and friends who feel this loss.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't begin to understand how difficult this time is for you. I will keep your family in my prayers. Mark was a wonderful person. He was always nice to me when I was younger even when my own brothers thought I was a nuisance. I used to bug my brothers and their friends all the time. He always told them to be nice she is your sister. I have lots of good memories of him from growing up. He will be missed.
