Mark Klekowski Obituary

Klekowski, Mark R. age 42, suddenly, beloved husband of the late Susan L. (nee Fisher), loving son of Richard and the late Helen Klekowski, dear brother of Lynn (James) Bailey and Joyce (Dennis) Bowers, loving uncle of Stephanie (David) Kidder, Lauren and Ricky Bowers and Spenser Bailey, dear godfather of Lindsey Minas. Mark will also be missed by his faithful dog Abbie Rae. Mark was a former Mokena police officer and was fortunate to live his dream of becoming a Metra train engineer. Mark had a gentle smile and his laugh will be missed by all who were able to share time with him. His friends were like family to him, most especially Andy and Linda Minas, Darrin and Sharon McCarthy, Larry Massat and many others too numerous to mention. Mark enjoyed following NASCAR, the White Sox, the Blackhawks, the Arizona Cardinals and crossword puzzles. He will be greatly missed by all. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Charity of Donor's choice. Funeral Thursday, 9:45 a.m., from the Hickey Memorial Chapel, 442 E. Lincoln Hwy., New Lenox, to St. Christopher Church in Midlothian for Mass at 11 a.m. Private interment at Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday, 2 to 9 p.m. 815-485-8697

Lynne, Joyce and Mr. Klekowski, I am sorry I did not read of Mark's passing until Sunday night. I went to school with Lynne and knew her and Joyce much better than Mark. I remember you all being a very happy, loving family. I am truly sorry to read his life was so short here on earth, but believe he is being loved in heaven and an asset there. My deepest sympathy to all of you on your loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all. I was so sad learn of Mark's passing. I graduated with Mark from Bremen H.S. and was in the Midlothian Jaycees with him as well. I keep reading that Mark always made people laugh. That is truly a gift in life, and it is one that Mark definitely had.

My prayers go out to Mark's family. I just heard about him today. I'm so shocked. I didn't really know Mark well, but liked what I knew. It was my privilege to train him as a Tower Operator in Joliet when he started at Metra. He will be missed.

To the family of Mark Klekowski, I was deeply saddened to hear of Marks passing. I worked with Mark when he was an officer in Mokena and I in Frankfort. Mark and I would also talk many times in passing when I would take the train to work in Chicago and he was the engineer. Mark will be missed greatly. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Klekowski family and friends. May God give you comfort and peace during this dificult time. Rest in his loving arms.

Rich, Lynn and Joyce,

Of course we all want to offer our sympathies today, but I also wanted to say "Thank You". Thank you to Rich and Helen for bringing Mark into this world, and for raising him into the great man he would become. Thank you to Lynn and Joyce for loving their baby brother and being kind enough to treat his friends as if we were a part of the Klekowski family.

Mark was a man that everyone loved. He brought joy and laughter into our lives. Even in these dark hours it is the memories we've shared with him that are bringing a smile to our faces and that are strengthening us.

In the past few days I've been flashing back to the truly wonderful times I was blessed to have shared with Mark. A memory as simple as the pure joy Mark would show when it was "Pierogi Day" at the Klekowski house. Mark found joy in everything, and it is that lasting memory that will always go with me.

God Bless You,

The Horan Family
