It is hard to believe that it has been a year. Seems like the other day we were visiting at Shelley’s. I have been watching out for Shelley and Lucinda when I get Joseph. As you know from your spot in heaven Lucinda is becoming a beautiful lil girl you can be proud of. She is still shy and she has a big heart. When I was by last week she was playing with Helena on the computer, She loves learning and wants to go to school so bad. We will see what she is like when she is in high school. LOL anyway keep watching them from your special place in heaven and I will keep doing what I can here. I know they really miss you and love you a lot. Not a day or a visit goes by when they do not mention you. I know Shelley has some hard times but she is tough and will make it through. Your friend.

Daddy,
It's your "little ray of sunshine." I'll be 5 in December. I miss you so very much daddy. I know you are with me every second of the day watching over mom and I. We visit you every Sunday to check on you. One day when it rained so much. Mom had to drive all around the cemetary to get to you so we can visit you. I know you are in a better place. Say "Hi" to my brother Paul for us. It is har for all of us. I have my mom,brother, and sisters and close friends ( Tom & Donna Sparrow) that tell me how wonderful you are. The biggest heart of gold. I wish we spent more time together. Mom always tells me I am just like you in every way. All she has to do is look at me and she sees you in me. Especially my kind, sparkling eyes like you. I blow kisses to you when I think of you. (Thats alot) When I am lonely or sad for you. All I have to do is close my eyes and take a deep breath and think of you. I love you Daddy. I miss you. We all love and miss you. You are always with us. Walk in beauty Dad.

It is coming up on the one year anniversary of your passing. What a shock to all of us who knew you and thought so much of you,,,your kindness, your humor, your spirit and love of our Father. I have not been able to write before,,,but I had to say thank you for being such a good friend to me,,,I know God holds you in His hands...

In My Pocket

I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.

My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.

They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.

Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.

But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

DAD,
Things have been lonely without you theses days . We are really missing you. I tried to post a couple things on here but it didn't work . I put some pictures on here . Its hard to go on with you being gone we don't do the things we use to , like go fishing that much and go to Cantigney. I remember the the trips we would go on and how we got lost on the way there and the time we ate chicken at the that little place in Michagan City. So DAD I LOVE YOU your SON MARK ANTHONY. :)

I miss you so much. I need your guidance more than ever right now.
I think about you everyday. Lucinda is getting so big. She is looking more and more like you everyday. We all miss you so much. Mom(Shelley), Joey, Lucinda, Tom & Donna Sparrow everyone dad. hey Mark, i sure do miss you a hole lot, but things are looking up now, i have my apartment that i wanted and i am blessed because i prayed to you and it came true. even though you are not on earth you are still here helping me like you always had. i wish i could have you over for those bbq country style ribs you liked. but we will still have them with vera and the boys and you will be there too. well by brother i just wanted you to know that i am blessed to have you. i love you very much, love always and forever, Dawn.

Hey bud, Justin is a jr this year Ican"t believe our baby is so grown up!!!! This year has gone by so fast.....losing you & dad picking me up in all our endeavers has been the hardest trial, I know that sweet Lord keeps surrounded by your smile that could light up any room or anybody!!!! hi Mark, i sure do miss you alot, i want to ask you and mom to take care of Sadie, i lost her too. i feel like everything i love so much i lose, why is that? That is why i need you because you were always there for me and now i have no one. But i will probably be there soon along with everyone else. i wish i could go back in time and have those good times back, yes it wasnt always bad because you always made things better, that is what you do. im glad Bobbys wedding went well , i dont know because i wasnt there, i would of been but oh well things happen. Mark, Today would have been24yrs together, my cousins came in so we went to see works the city &the fire works, they where awsome!!!! Robin said it's not the same without crazy mark laughing& joking!!!!! [HE] JESUS watching over us and sending us some happiness & love of family!!!!!

Dad its almost a year since you been gone and we all miss you very much . Not alot has changed so far as you can tell . Bob got married , that went well . We all say your in a better place its true I wish things could be better for all of us but nothing has changed.still the same old thing . Well I wish I had better news sorry :(

mark, yesterday I went though all achivements/awards, after thirty or more lost count! I always told you were the best cop, though your hardest times JESUS always sent the deer or the hawk he is faithful to hear our prayers! Again i can"t sleep! Everyone says go on but you told me the same thing I need you beside me...........Sometimes I hear you play the flute so gracefully you told me god taught me! remember when barbie from church said, come and play at the service, she said you had such a gift! Barbie wrote a book about the gifts of god!!!!

Dear Mark, i miss you very much, i lost you too soon. but at least your not in any more pain. you were not only my brother but you were my best friend. if it wasnt for you taking good care of me all my life only god knows where i would be if i didnt have you to watch over me. Mark,we are keeping our selves busy planning Bobbys wedding,There will be alot of family comming in from all over West virgina,Delware,&florida, They wanted to see you too! This Sunday is Father's Day! Hi,
It's me Nikie. I've never gotten a chance to write since everything but I thought now would be a good time. I wanted to let you know that I miss you greatly. I think about you all the time. I'm always telling Mark about how much you were like a father to me. A lot has happened since you've been gone. My family and I moved all the way out to Des Plaines. It's so far away. I miss Brideview. I also got into a car accident and totaled my car but I think you already know that. I know you were there holding my hand. I know because if you weren't I would probably be up there with you right now. I know that you're watching over all of us. It comforts me at night to know that you're there all the time. I miss you so much and I know so does mom and all the boys. We're always talking about you. When we start to feel down, we bring up one of your jokes or stories and it makes us all laugh and then we feel like your there with us. Me and Mark went fishing on Memorial Day. It made me think of you cuz I know how much you like to fish. It also made me want to go to Winsconsin and go fishing were you used to go. I have never been fishing out there and you promised that one day you would take me. Maybe one day I'll get to go and you'll be right there fishing with me. Well I have to go now I love you and I miss you. See you soon!!!

Hi Babe markA, broke down,' he said I miss DaD the laughter & hugs in the morning before breakfast; I told him that each day is a blessing from God remember, the fishing trips; the stars in the sky!dad is surrounds us with his love. God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,

I was just told by a friend today of Mark's passing. This came as a great shock to me. I worked at Bridgeview Bank and Trust in mark's rookie years as he worked security there. Mark and I had a good friendship and he was a very good man and father. We had great times together and i have nothing but good memories of this man. I wish the best for his wife and family and friends and the bridgeview police department. You will be missed greatly mark and god bless you in heaven.

I was shocked and saddened to learn of the death of Mark. I first met Mark 27 years ago, when he worked the radio for the Willow Springs Police. He and I enjoyed many talks from the job to the sport of fishing. Bridgeview Police lost a great Sergeant and I lost a great friend.

Although I've known Mark for 5 years or so, he struck me as a sweet, gentle and kind man. He would always visit us at our booth at UIC Pavilion pow wow in November and Joliet pow wow in March. He bought Native American jewelries from us and proudly wore them with his cowboy outfit.

He liked my personal web site and would check it occasionally for new entries. He was very concerned about Tom's health.

He would share his feelings of happiness and heartbreak with us and his plan to retire in Montana. Now, Mark is in a vaster Montana up above.

Mark, if you are looking down at us, be assured that you are truly missed.

IT WAS YOU WHO GAVE ME THE IDEA OF CALLING OUR DINNER NIGHTS "COP NIGHT". WHEN YOUR SHIFT HOURS CHANGED TOM WOULD BRING WHAT WE HAD FOR DINNER BACK TO THE STATION FOR YOU. I REMEMBER THE LAST MEAL I MADE FOR SOME OF THE GUYS WHO CAME OVER FOR "COP NIGHT" AND TOM TOOK IT TO THE POLICE STATION FOR YOU AS YOU COULD NOT LEAVE. IT WAS MY LEMON-PEPPER CHICKEN BREAST AND ALL THE GOODIES TO GO WITH IT.
WHEN I MAKE THE DINNER FOR COP NIGHT THIS WEEK IT WILL BE "LEMON-PEPPER CHICKEN" IN YOUR HONOR. YOU ARE BEING MISSED SO MUCH ALREADY AND WILL ALWAYS BE THE BRIGHTEST STAR IN HEAVEN WHEN WE ALL LOOK UP INTO THE SKY AT NIGHT.

I met Mark when he was in school and tried to help him get into a Police Department. I am glad that it finally was the Bridgeview Police Department. This way I could watch him grow and become a great cop and a special person. He will be missed.

mark will be missed by a lot of people he was a great cop always looking to help some one. i could alway go to him with anything. i would let my kids go camping in the park every year only because i new they would be safe with him there. may god bless marks family

I started my career as a police officer in Bridgeview in 1989. Mark was already a veteran officer at that time, and always made himself available to me to answer the countless questions I had as "rookie". I valued the advice he gave me, but more importantly, I appreciated his friendship and his terrific sense of humor. He ALWAYS made me laugh! I'll miss him very much.

I first met mark like almost 30 yrs ago and we have been friends ever since,we use to ride horses and on a few occasions unloaded hay trailers for the stables and it was some hard work.i use to visit with him at the bridgview bank and we would just start talking and like hours would go by.He is one of the best guys and my heart and thoughts go out to his family.

Take comfort in knowing that now you have a special guardian angel to watch over you.

It seems like yesterday we were getting on the 6th grade bus to Willow Springs School and Mark was talking on his Walkie/Talkie, he always dreamed about becoming a Police Officer and he achieved his goal. He will be in my thoughts and prayers, may he rest in peace.
