Marjorie Simmons Obituary

Marjorie Ann Simmons, born June 27, 1931 to Lawrence and June Carolyn (Wells) Smith, passed away on April 13, 2013. Mrs. Simmons was a devoted Christian serving her church and church family throughout her life. She loved traveling and gardening and had been a resident of DeWitt since 1967. Marjorie was preceded in death by Charles, her husband of 57 years, on March 29, 2013. Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, David (Ruthann) Simmons and Linda J. Simmons; grandchildren, Melody, Timothy, Valerie, Rosie, Jonathan and Bobby; and sister, Evelyn Jones. Her funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 19, 2013 at Bath Baptist Church, 13527 Webster St., Bath, Michigan, with the Rev. William "Gib" Hale officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes DeWitt Chapel, 205 E. Washington, DeWitt, Michigan. Interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Bath, Michigan. Those desiring may make contributions to Bath Baptist Church, 13527 Webster St., Bath, Michigan 48808, and/or First Baptist Church of St. Johns, 512 S. US 27, St. Johns, Michigan 48879, in memory of Marjorie Ann Simmons. Memories may be shared with the family at www.grdewitt.com
