Marisol Perez Obituary

To My Titi Sori,

I miss you and I will continue to miss hearing your unique laugh. I will miss the time you were always willing to share and the love you always showed me.

May your life teach us all to appreciate people like you who are self-less and giving.

May your premature departure teach us all to live life to it's fullest, now.

On Saturday, February 23rd, I came across this book when Titi Virgin, Melitza and I were cleaning up Sori’s house and getting ready for the Rosary “prayer” service at her home. I opened up this book and the first page that I came across had a beautiful poem that reminded me of her. It made me so emotional and that I began to cry and I made everyone else cry as well. Due to restrictions on this website I can't disclose the Poem that I read that day.

When my daughter Carmen and I came into the Perez-Nieves family Sori took us in with open arms. She instantly became the Aunt we always dreamed of having. She was our gift and she became an instant part of our heart; she was a beautiful person in and out. Just recently I request a letter from her for Carmen for a Spiritual Retreat that she went to in Jan of 08. On part of the letter she wrote, "Think and do what you need to do to move forward and surround yourself with positive people who support your goals."

The world was a greater place with her in it but heaven has been blessed with an extraordinary “ANGEL”. God gave her to us as a gift and now he gives her to us as a Guardian ANGEL. We will love, miss and cherish you for as long as we live. We’ll see you again at the gates of Heaven.

My Dear Sister-in-law,

I wish I could have known you longer. Eleven years was just not enough. When I first started dating Virgen and I was introduced to you, you opened up your heart and embraced me with love and joy. As I got to know you I could see that I had met a truly special person in my life. We had many laughs together. We were there for each other in good times and in sad times. You were sunshine in
my life and in the life of many others. There are not enough words to describe the person that you were. Please continue to shine your beautiful rays of light upon us. Give me and Virgen the strength we need to continue on with the things that you always took care of for family and friends.

Sori, you were not my sister-in-law; you were my sisters. I will miss you.

I did not know Marisol that well or long but when I saw her most mornings at the bus stop she always had a big smile (employee of HCSC).

You will never be missed because you are in our hearts. You are the God Mother of All God Mothers to all of your nephews and nieces and friends children. You watched us grow, spoiled, scrolled us, and let us go our own way. For many years you lived with us helping my mom and especially Alva and never stopped. Thank you for your patience. I recalled one time I went shopping with you and grandma and you bought me candy just for carrying the bags and I was a happier than ever (it was probably the sugar rush), and another time when you yelled at me and Eddie when we put a frog in a paper bag in the car and it got loose (that was funny). There are plenty more memories to never forget you.

You'll be truly missed. I didn't see you or talk on a daily basis, but when we got together it was like we kept in touch everyday. It saddens me to know that such an intelligent, caring person is no longer amoung the living. You'll be in my thought and prayers.

Sori, you were and are the center of so many lives. You were adventurous, intelligent, outgoing and respected. Christmas Eve, for the children especially, will "NEVER" be the same without you. You were so giving, so generous, so kind and so thoughtful. No wonder God wanted you with him. I loved you like you were my very own Ti Ti. DJ and I will miss you dearly.

My Dear Sister,

Who knew that I would have to be the one to make the plans to put you to rest. God took you home and left me to care for all the things you had to care for. I look back now on all the times you guided me through tasks and the lessons you were teaching me. It all makes sense now. I remember just this Christmas when doing our shopping for the party you said to me "this is the best part of the party, the time we get to spend running around getting ready". We laughed, ate fresh bread and tamales, and got crumbs all over my car. I didn't care, I really enjoyed it. It is memories like that, that are keeping me from going crazy with grief. I will miss you so much. I love you.

I worked with Marisol at the telecommunications training center in Lisle, Illinois, for nearly 25 years. She was always cheerful and cooperative, with a positive attitude and willingness to help with any requirement or special request related to a project, often putting in extra effort. She was a very warm person, involved with friends and devoted to family. She had an important place in many lives and did her part in making the world a better place.

My deepest sympathy is extended to the Perez family.

Marisol - you will be missed.

Marisol was a wonderful co-worker and friend. She brought intelligence, fun and grace everyday to all of us in the office. She will be greatly missed. I send my thoughts and prayers to her loving family.

I am so sadden by the loss of Marisol. I not only had the good fortune to work with her for many years at Bellcore but we were students, even partners, in class for our Masters degree. She was a delight to work with and I am sure I would not have done as well without her as my partner in many class projects. Her work in class and on the job was outstanding and she made friends as easy as just meeting people. My wife Marlene also knew Marisol and worked with her. We are both sadded by her loss. The world has had a beautiful light go out. Such a shame.

Sori, there is going to be a huge void in the family without you here. My heart aches just thinking about it. For our own selfish reasons we want you here with us, but God has called you home. You are an amazing woman who will never be forgotten. Christmas Eve will never be the same. That was one day that I looked forward to spending with you and the rest of the family. You will be missed.
