I'm only hearing about this now, more than a year later. I recall with great affection the years we worked together at the U of I along with Carron. The times were not always so great...but the friendship was irreplaceable. Mickey was ever a fiercely loyal friend, with a hilarious sense of humor and a laugh that could set the room rocking. I really missed her all those subsequent years. I missed sharing the rides home, the gossip, and the laughs. Rest easy, sweet lady. And Carron my dear, please be happy...you deserve to be.

Mickey's friendship was really precious to us over the last 18 years. Although we are in Scotland we shared many things in common, not least our shared Forbes family history here in the Scottish Highlands. It was wonderful to meet Mickey and her wonderful cousin, Jeanie, over here in Scotland on two separate occasions. For a long time barely a day went by when we weren't sharing the 'deep and meaningfuls' of life via email and the occasional phone call - and of course, plenty talk about her fondness for her Scottish heritage. Mickey, a lady of immense intelligence, wisdom and generosity, thank you for your wonderful friendship! Our thoughts and prayers to all her family at this difficult time.

We were so saddened to hear of your mothers passing, we enjoyed her company along with Jeannie her cousin on a few occasions here in Scotland. We often talk of those days and fondly remember her. Love to you all x
